When you have a difficult decision to make in your life, or a moral conundrum, who is the one person you're most likely to turn to for advice?

Is it a parent, a priest or rabbi, a friend, a sibling, etc?

Me.

I go to no one.
I don't believe in advice since nobody but you
knows your situation...

if I ever had a serious problem I probably would go to my mom. I dont talk to her much but I do trust her judgment.

Otherwise myself, and you folks for life's more minor issues

Honestly, I don't place a lot of weight in the opinons of those around me. I trust myself and my decisions, for better or worse.

Egotistic? Narcissistic? Or have all these people let me down in the past too many times?

There are people in my life that I could turn to in such cases but over the years I've learned that I need to figure things out for myself. I think that is a very good way to learn. Of course I've made a lot of wrong choices but at least they were mine and I don't often make the same ones twice. But my personality also is a factor since I never feel comfortable sharing my problems with other people no matter who they are.

I'd do it only to try to convince you that Dewey Evans should have as much if not more consideration for the Hall of Fame than Jim Rice ;)

I'm usually the one people come to for advice.

On those few things when I need an outside opinion, however, it's my dad or my best friend.

My mother is more of a sounding board than anything else, so I call her when I just need to hear myself talk.

LIES!

I always answer, just not right off the bat.

I'd have to say that I agree with a majority of the people who have responded. More often than not I trust myself to make the right decision. I will, however, bounce things off close friends when I'm thinking about something really important.

I love my parents, but never really consult them on any weighty issues. In fact, I hardly share anything personal with them at all.

The older I've gotten, the more I've realized that other people aren't to be expected to be able or willing to support you. Whether I wanna turn to someone about something or not, doesn't really matter- it's rarely worth the disappointment. Not to sound like a curmudgeon.

Like Bazile, my experience has more been the other way round where people come to me for advice. I've had friends who act like real tough guys break down into tears over some errant chick while I paid their tab for the night at some watering hole. Not once has anybody done anything like that for me when I've felt down nor do I expect 'em to. No guarantees in life, and besides, other people's opinions are usually shit.

To answer the question: nobody.

Thank you!

I would say my husband and very rarely my parents or his parents. I usually figure it out myself. I find when someone does give me advice I want to do the opposite.

You don't need to convince me of that my friend. I have always worn my #24 Red Sox jersey in honor of Dewey, not Manny Ramirez (when he was here). Dewey doesn't get enough love.

Me, well the beer can or my mom. My cat is too sassy to give advice and my ex-wife sucked at it.

Other than that, because of my field I was usually the one giving the advice so it is nice to ask some one else.

LaBoob

I have lots of mentors and advisors... my mom, my former bosses, former co-workers, my sister, and I will run a tough situation past all of them but will ultimately follow my own heart. Nobody sees the situation quite like you do and nobody can know exactly what you should do except for yourself... plus, nobody else feels the consequences of your actions except you, so you might as well make up your own mind.

My mother once gave me terrible advice about how to break up with somebody that haunted me for years and to this day I just wish I'd done it differently. That was the first time I realized my mother didn't know everything. To this day I listen to her advice and sometimes even use it, but it's always filtered through my own experience and it's always MY decision.
