Jumping out of bed this morning with only
minor aches and pains,
I know they'll be know snow in Florida.
But I'm sure that we'll get rain.
Upon my desk, this calendar was.
An advent to count the days.
25 till Christmas comes,
Chocolates! HIP,HIP,HURRAY!
So now I'll share this advent with you.
My internet friends .net
Everyday I'll open a window
And we'll see just what we get.
For sharing at this time of year
is what we should do the most.
So I say to you "Merry Christmas to All"
And to all a Merry Post.

Got both my kids an Advent Calendar at Trader Joe's on Saturday night. They can't wait to open the first day (I couldn't let them do it for breakfast).

This may be the greatest post in the history of the internet.
I love Advent calendars almost as much as I love Lenny.
What a great present an Advent calendar would make.

yes they do, and they are not stupid and we used to have homemade ones where my mom would put a treat or some small toy in for each day. It was very exciting to reach day 24, cause that's the day Santa came to the house.

I had one when I was a kid, no chocolate, you'd gently tear back a panel & there was just pictures of that Jesus guy when he was a baby, his mom, her baby daddy & some guys who looked like ZZ Top.

Haha, nice.
I remember the cheap ones I got.
My mom also worked for avon and we got a mini tree that had little drawers underneath it with the days.
In each drawer was an ornament you were supposed to put on the tray on that day.
It also had lights and spun around.
It was pretty cool but me, being a little kid, lost all the ornaments after the first year.

Apparently there are only 9 days in biochemist's Advent.

Its probably not even chocolate, just some phenyl chloride or some such nonsense.

When I woke up this morning,
I woke with glee.
For Chocolate and Advent
was waiting for me
Day number two
Of many to go
What will it be?
Soon we'll know
There it is!
On the reindeer's back
It's just like a present
from Santa's sack.
A Chocolate Bell!
So yummy and sweet.
Oh Advent Calendar..
You'll never be beat!
