View Full Version : Would you support O&A moving to afternoons?

Its the current discussion
if they are fired from terrestrial it definitley is a possibility. On satellite they can have R&F or maybe a new show do mornings. I can even see satellite supporting this move, give promotion to howard in the morning, a high profile afternoon show. could work
but would u want that?

What would you suggest they do with RnF then if they get a new show on the morning and then OnA on afternoons?
wheres the PIMB?

Howard all morning, breuer noon till 3, oNa 3-7, r and f 7-10

Yes. Not to bring up the same old thing but they were better in afternoons. An all satellite afternoon show would possibly re-spark the passion they seemed to have when they were on wnew.

I can see the Sirius-XM brass going for a move to the afternoons. That way there will be less competition for Howard in the mornings, especially since there tends to be audience overlap.
It would royally screw up the rest of the schedule though; what will Ron & Fez do? Fez has said he doesn't want to do the evening time slot anymore.
I guess the question is would Anthony's liver support a move to afternoons?

so howard will automatically get the morning slot .. hmmm that sucks
but they may be able to re ignite the war with howie by saying they got bounced from mornings b/c of him

Of course Howard would get preference for the morning slot; he has always been the golden boy for Sirius. Most of XM's programming has been trashed for Sirius content anyway.
They would probably keep O&A and Howard on separate channels, but Howard would be live in the mornings up against an O&A replay (or something like that).
Logically, it would also spread out the live talk/comedy programming listener numbers throughout the listening day since Howard was the big name on Sirius and O&A were the big name on XM and there is a lot of fan crossover.

Bring back the WNEW slots. O&A 3-7, R&F 7-11. I don't care if Fez doesn't like nights, he needs to go back there. That show is built for that timeslot.

I'd love O&A 3-7. I'd finally be able to listen to the show live.

Then Howard will go to Mel and put a gag order on O&A. Welcome to the year 2000.
Seriously, O&A can't be too happy about how history is repeating itself. But I do think O&A work better in afternoons. And put R&F on in the evenings afterward.

even putting back the old crew, lykis is the worst, not to mention no way Limbaugh goes between Howie and O&A

I think it makes most sense for xm-sirius to just make one mega talk channel. I'd definitely revisit O&A if they moved to the afternoons, may be interesting. Ron and Fez 7-10 would be really awesome. Even Ron says the show works better at night.

i dig it.
no way in fuck does ron do mornings.
I would watch much less television if Ron and Fez moved into the 7 to 10 slot, but I would also catch their so live less often. Many more distractions in the early evening.
keep my Buddys at noon to 3, then O&A until whenever. Move Breuer to nights.

Maybe I just don't know anything about how radio works, but why would R&F have to go from noon-3 to 7-10pm if O&A moved back to 3-7pm slot?

Oh yeah, I would support their move to afternoons definitely. Even better would be if CBS dropped them entirely and they went back to a satellite program only.

And add to this that it looks like Bubba's gone from satellite (good riddance) as he adds new terrestrial stations, so there'll be a big gap in the afternoon talk schedule.
And it would be a good opportunity to sell the Best of XM package to Sirius listeners.

for half a billion, and two channels with his name on them, he'll probably get to do anything he wants

if O&A and howard were both on the same subscription service, but two channels, would that be competing ...? once some one pays, does it matter which station they listen to ...?

It would be cool with me as long at O&A and R&F still have their own channel with replays.
I have an Inno, but replays make my life much better/easier.

Why would I pay for something a second time when I have an Inno?
It's just a matter on convenience.
Is there something I'm missing?
It's good to know I have that option, though. Thanks.

I was talking about competing in a loose sense - listeners tuning in to listen to live programming. I am not even sure if satellite is concerned about that, but the way fans on this and other message boards react to live programming vs. Best Of or Replays there is a definite draw to new and live shows.

I like the way things work out now just due to my work schedule... I get in my car a little before 8am. Listen to O+A. get to work about 8:15. I listen to the rest of O+A show then R+F 12-3. Then I get to hear what I missed of O+A before I got up and went to work from 3-5 Cause I leave work at 5
I wouldn't really mind a move as long as everything was still live when I was at work. Something like O+A from 10am-2pm and R+F 2pm-5pm. I think that's a good compromise too.

I agree...I HATE when I am hanging with friends and they have on regular radio. Especially KRock after O and A...it is like it is 1996 again with the fucking playlists.
Other stations are worse, hence why I like my job. They let me do my work with head phones on as I listen to my XM...The only station that comes on in my office is some awful easy listening station where they play the same songs everyday, BUT they mix up when the songs play so that people are fooled.
Regular radio is horrendous.

i bet if o&a lose the other 5 fm deals (including NYC) they will just do xm 9-10:45 am till that runs out. they are lazy and tired. don't think either of them (or jim) has his heart in it anymore. if they still loved it they would do good radio more often.

I am a indecisive ass. I like them in the mornings, but I remember the afternoon days fondly. The thing is you can never really go back, and maybe being on XM alone again will pick up the whole show. I can go on and on.....
