Mooch has caught and played more musical references and cues this week than Earl did in the last three years. And I don't mean just during a discussion about music - I mean during the course of the entire show. Way to go Mooch!

In all honesty Mooch, and I know you will be honest, are you astounded at Earl's lack of knowledge and talent at production considering how long he's been in the business?

I know I am.

Awesome point, Earl has not faith or confidence when he does choose to do this.

What exactly does a "free safety" do for a radio company? Just google stuff? Whenever Earl googles something and I'm at my keyboard, I find it within seconds and Earl is still looking. It's like the guy has never used a search engine before. I do hear him trying to jump on mic all the time now.

Yes I understand that, but the mouse freezes up.

My interpretation would be that the "free safety" would be the last line of defense. Sad, but true.

Stacks from Goodfellas probably shouldn't be the last line of defense.

If the Dilette system works like I imagine it does from descriptions, in that you use a Google-like interface to do a search for a song by title, artist, or other keywords, there's no excuse for missing a music cue.

Love hicks and mooch

distain earl

Its seriously stunning how it seems like anyone w/ a computer has more ability to produce this show than earl who has been in radio forever.

In Earl's defense, he is the "spinning the hits" champ.

I imagine Dillette working similar to iTunes. With results from text string searches popping up as you type then you double click on the song. If I recall... I think Earl chooses not to search by keywords but instead stores the songs in certain folders. Then say he has 100 folders each with 100 songs, he has to find a particular folder taking a lot longer than just doing a text search.

Mooch, I guessed you weren't in as you called into the show over the electric telephone.

Can you put me into the B.A. Prize Closet?

In Earl's defense, he is the "spinning the hits" champ.

In Pitz's defense, Ronnie did heavily imply that the contest was rigged against Pitzy.

Hicks and Mooch are both great! They really can add to the show in ways that doesn't include running over anyone. They take the mic when asked, and help the show from the production room.

BOOM!! And Hicks is right on it - Turn The Beat Around - in less than .02 seconds!

I don't even know the system they have there, but if I had 20 minutes to figure it out, I bet I would crush Earl in spinning the hits.

Not only do the take the mic but I notice they will often provide a contrary opinion and debate it which makes for good radio.

On the other hand, Earl has probably has an opinion different than Ron 1 out of every 100 topics.

If you take a sip of O'Doul's each time Earl agrees with Ron you'd have blood alcohol poisoning after each show and psoriasis of the liver in 6 months.

psoriasis of the liver in 6 months.

and then you'll be busy scratching at it all the time and making it bleed like Fez has been doing to his scalp

I thought the beds played at barely an audible level was some sort of bit.

Yes, Earl being largely ineffective and incompetent is a "bit".

Longest bit ever.
