This thinking is actually very similar to Jerry Falwell, who believes that gays should be killed b/c they wilfully sin - they can control whom they are attracted to but do not do so.

We know that's a load of crap. While the environment does play some factor, there are unquestionable biological differences b/w the heterosexual and homosexual mind. It is not something that can be turned on or off like a switch.

I'm not Falwell expert, but I doubt he put it in those words. "Let's kill the gays." The guy's a scumbag, and he's said a lot of dumb shit, but I don't think I've ever heard of him specifically saying, "Gay people should die".

Oh, and sorry to interject religion into this (but you did, anyway), but to just throw out a disclaimer, not all religious folks disapprove of homosexuality or support Falwell's lunatic ramblings.
