One-way airline tickets.

My fiancee and I were pricing airline tickets for next summer. She's flying from Poland and won't be returning. We really only need a one-way ticket but the round-trip is $200+ cheaper. Now, I know that one-way tickets are more expensive so we are going to buy a round-trip and just not use the return flight. Am I missing something? Why would anyone buy a one-way ticket?

I bought a round trip when I moved here.
If you buy a non restricted one you can actually use the second leg for a vacation home in the future.

Thank you, Katja. We will definitely look into the non-restricted option since a trip back to Poland is something we will probably do annually/semi-annually.

I didn't look into it, so I don't know what round trip would've cost, but I think I got a pretty good deal with a one way ticket to Charlotte this past Oct. Think it was like $70 bucks total.

I imagine the deal they got this January... they paid a round trip to Charlotte and never left NY/ NY
