It seems every year as the holidays ramp up in intensity inevitably Mrs drjoek and I would have an annual spat in the days as Christmas approached. Last year through a concerted effort on my part the holidays passed with nary an arguement even in the face of extra stress. I pledge here to my fellow .netter to do my best to make this a true annual event.

My theory about this time of year is to lower expectations. That way you can never be disappointed with anything that happens.
I've spent some Christmases feeling really depressed for no good reason at all. Then I grew up and applied my theory.
You can't go wrong!

Please God, tell me Dougie doesn't have my home address. I don't need him gaying up the place, throwing pseudo-threesomes and or zipping up his cock.

Plus, it's spelled Kristen, not Christin! Perhaps you should date people who can spell better than Sheepy and frankblack?! Just a thought!

We exchanged ornaments last night. She got me Linus and Sally doing math ... and if you press a button you hear the teacher... "woh woh woh" or something. It's been festive with the tree up and house decorated.
I call the whole thing winter carnival which she doesn't enjoy near as much as I do.
I won't ruin Christmas again this year because I shan't be there.

I am the only non-christian in the family (bad idea for 3rd generation religious Germans) and I always work not to spoil everyone else's mood. I will show up at family's homes, smile, shake hands, then sit outside by myself smoking cigs and having a few beers. Once I am bored enough, and at least a hour or so has past then it is time for me to smile again, shake hands, get the various short conversations out of the way, my dad follow me out as I leave thanking me for showing up, and bye.
I love my family, and I show for them, I just have a hard time dealing with them during the holidays.
So, my resolution this x-mas is try to stay a little longer, and bring more beer.
