Today on the show, Ron and Dave and staff talked about the signature songs for popular artists and groups such as the Beatles, Beach Boys, GNR, Michael Jackson, the Who, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, the Clash, Bowie, U2 and the Allman Brothers.

What do you think are the signature songs for these bands or others?

Now you made me remember the biggest tease ever featured in an '80's music video, where the chick is lifting her shirt to flash her boobs, and I think you see the bottoms, but then cuts to something else before you see anything great. I remember watching that shot frame by frame hoping to see some nipple.

Thanks for making me relive teenage pubescent frustration mikey.

Wouldn't a one hit wonder be a signature song?

Signature song = Song that a band is most known for.

Definitely not. I'd say Sabotage. Given the criteria given on the show, think of it as the song that everyone waits for when they go to see the band or artost live. Beastie Boys are kind of embarassed by Fight For Your Right to Party, and haven't played it lived in years.

Great list.
I would go with No Fun for Stooges

I was flipping between both of these songs. I also considered "Search and Destroy", but decided against it since it wasn't the real lineup.

So would the solo Iggy track be "Lust For Life"?

Neil Young - Cinnamon Girl
Doobie Bros - Black Water
Megadeth - Peace Sells
Bodacious Band - Hot Days Cool Nights
Kix - Don't Close Your Eyes
Pogues - If I Should Fall from Grace with God
Faster Pussycat - Bathroom Wall

And I am ruling against Layla for Clapton. That was Derick and the Dominoes. I'll put up Cocaine as a replacement.

You have to be joking... Stairway To Heaven? I guarantee that's the song people name first when asked to name a Led Zeppelin song.

You're right, but fuck Stairway to Heaven.
