I get Absinthe all the time here in Canada, a friend and I drank about half a bottle one night listening to Jazz. It is awesome to drink but drinking half a bottle is rough the next day :)

There are places around Europe that ( I am not kidding ) people will put a bottle of real Absinthe in the trunk of a tree so passers by will drink it. Some people have a "tip cup" situation others just give it away.

I have arguments with my husband all the time on whether the stuff we get in Montreal is real. The ingredients say it has wormwood and stuff in it but he is unsure of the truthfulness of the labels :)

Edited to add: the Thirsty Traveler did a great episode on Absinthe that you might want to check out. We get the show on the discovery channel not sure where it airs in the states.
