HK, well the only original idea probably came from Adam and Eve (questionably I know) and everyone basically stole an idea from someone.
SO can you please tell me is there such thing as an "original idea" or is it just an improvement on an existing idea?
I always argue with my friend about this. Thank you.

I have one. A theme store that sells batteries exclusively. Any type of battery you can think of. Big and Small, you name it, I'll get it! It's called the "Batteria." It's genius!. Every sales person acts like a robot character.
This isn't a plug for any business. It's my dream. please don't delete this post.
i got kicked out of my band, so now i'm stuck with the name

King Solomon said in koheles, "There is nothing new under the sun."
He was wrong. (When uncertain of an answer look to a religious text and pick the opposite response).
The idea that the world was flat, then circular then oval. New ideas matched our growing understanding of the world.
Remember at one point the idea that the Earth wasn't the center of the universe was so novel as to be heritical.
Buildings are new ideas - even the basic shape and structure of our artecture does does not occur in nature.
You may be talking about "memes," an idea or concept that some consider basic underlying principles of reality that are known by all. There are about 5 questions you should have about that last statement (lol). The idea behind memes is itself a novel idea.
Given the existence of brand new ideas and novel methods of thinking, it is also true that much knowledge is obtained from using previously discovered ideas in new ways. Even so the idea of using the knowledge in a new way, is a new idea.
