Man what a morning that I have had. I awoke and saw that my skinny pig (a hairless guinea pig), Jack, was dead. It really upset me!! I think upset me so cause this was a culmination of events that was this shitty year. I mean first a close friend died earlier this year, then another friend's mother died, then Sept 11 where I lost many people and now this...I just wish that this fucking year would end already!!! I am sorry for being so graphic people...is not normally my style

Any one of those events is difficult to bear. All of them in one year is horrible.

Unfortunately, some may chastize you for equating the death of your pet with the death of people. That's nonsense. You love your pet, you live with him, and care for him. His death has a profound impact. It goes beyond being merely the "straw that broke the camels back." Allow yourself to grieve.
