It's relative. If you're new, you don't have a low post count. You're just new. If you joined over a year ago, and you're still Rude and Rude, you have a low post count.
(choose your favorite cliche)
Don't make you a bad person.
Not that it's a bad thing.
PS. People don't get bashed for low post counts. They get bashed for being idiots or assholes.

some of us don't feel the need to share every movement and decision we make with a message board.
Soon we'll get a "i just started a new thread" thread, announcing another thread...
I think i originally signed up for this account when o&a got kicked off the air and we weren't sure what was happening with R&F...if it weren't for that i'd probably still be a daily lurker.

I guess it depends on the amount of time you've had on a site as well.
If someone is on a messageboard for 10 years and has 10,000 posts, that is low.
If someone is on a messageboard for 10 months and has 10,000 posts, that is high.
I'm breaking new ground every day, as you can tell from this brilliant wisdom.
Dave was referring to more of the new posters who come on to this board or any board really, and are negative right off the bat, and not have those posters taken to task by the community at large.
I think that was his point, anyway it's not important to this post.
Any post count is as high or low as the person making them wants them to be, and whatever the # there is no difference in what type of fan you are.
Shocking isn't it?
Message boards are what the people who post on them make them, and in the same way, you get what you want out of each board, or not.
I will say I think new posters to any board, especially if they are not message board veterans, sometimes have no idea how they work, so I would hope before someone is attacked for asking what you may think is a stupid or repetitive question you ponder and think why that is being asked.
This place is one of the better boards I have ever been on, as the best usually are, it's a close knit group of people who have come together on a common subject, who know how to have fun, and have don't take themselves too seriously.
Anyway I don't have many posts, but I enjoy this place, I was a reader here for well over a year before I ever signed up, and when I don't post for long periods of time, it's just because I am quiet or feel I have nothing to add.
So if any other low poster reads this, and they are not used to being on a message board, don't worry about how many posts you have, or how long you have even listened to the show, a fan is a fan, is a fan, we are all equal in one way or another, so just enjoy the show, and take this place for what it is, or if you choose to, try and make it better if you have a problem with something.
And now with a long ramble, I might just go be quiet again, or not.
take care all and thanks to ron & fez for bringing everyone to the same place

Meh. Some of us arent new and have low post counts. For me generally, I go for quality over quantity. Especially when bashing a person. A true sniper only needs one bullet, not a box full.
With this post I went from Rude and Rude to DotCommando...

I think one of the things Dave was getting at was people who may listen to the show and have a dislike for a certain person on the show whether it is any of them and they don't like what they add, or maybe they feel jealous or slighted because of how they may have been treated on the board or at an event, or even things said in threads, the chatroom, myspace or even on paltalk, and they feel the need to come on the board and trash talk that person. Some folks create alternate characters to hide their feelings from their online personas and some just take everything that is said on the show literally and as gospel.
I've had mostly a lurking presence on other boards over the years, from back in my original oa.com days to then RF.net, Wackbag, STI, FBA, RGF and others and I've personally seen things that happened on some of those boards that have frankly killed them. I'm sure others here have also so there is a certain animosity I guess veteran board members have towards newer posters - that is until they establish themselves and show they can participate and they are not shock posters out to just cause trouble. This has never been a board where people here feel the need to trash people from other boards and go to war, it's happened I'm sure but not in large scales.
For the longest time I was all about posting in as many threads as I could and having a comment on everything and high post counts, but eventually that desire went away. I just post about whatever I want when I want to now. Just be yourself and post and have fun, once everyone gets to know each other and you establish yourself you'll be fine. Are there tensions and major drama here? HELL YES at times, it's the same everywhere. However, there shouldn't be a drive to get the new blood out of here, by all means everyone is welcome.

What's the prize for high post counts? Is it being able to have Ron or Dave talk about you, slowing the show to a crawl? Or is it actually getting into the studio and grinding the show to a halt? The listener shit this week has sucked a dog dick. Between inviting people in and talking about them. Who really enjoys hearing about TooSweet304589 taking a shit or GWizPantsPuppet arguing with JimJoe4Life, outside of the people on message boards?

the correct answer is who cares
u can have 5 or 12000 posts, if u are funny u will fit in
if u crave negative attention, it doesnt matter if you have a high post count like Jezo or a low post count like jimcfan, people will always mock and ridicule u
I have a high post count, but 10000 of them suck, 2500 are mediocre 460 are bearable and 21 were actually funny
I prove that post counts mean nothing, u can still suck

Here's my theory - high post counts and member since dates are a proxy for "hey, I am popular/respected in this community" which is then a proxy for love and everyone needs love. Otherwise its just a couple numbers and without any meaning assigned to it either overtly or covertly, then no one would have ever mentioned post counts and the vBulletin board programmers would not have even thought to incorporate it as a display.
