Dave is the really funny outrageous guy on the show. He owns that. Hes def the breakout guy...but Sam has a temperament that works well with him. Hes good at keeping the show on track and hes really great at being the straight guy to dave's silliness. Also, i think Sam is good for a few one-liners too

i actually dig sam on the ron and fez show... he has a different vibe there.

and with Dave.. sam is almost like the 'straight man' to daves clown.
so it works.
i found the sam and than show rather boring because it was two dry-humored 'straight men'... there was no conflict.

i think sam's dryness plays off of daves goofiness decently so far.
their show needs fine tuning... but what doesn't in these early stages?

If Ron or whoever (obviously Ron) is behind this masterwork of a radio show and comedy/ drama puppeteering arent legends at the end of their career I will be extremely dissapointed with the human race.

That said I love both Sam and Dave and I think Sam has the ability to eventually steer Dave's potential talent. Both are hilarious and I'm glad at the inhouse promotion of their show.

I agree with you on that, but Sam definetly has a role. There's a reason he's getting so much airtime on both shows.

Would love to hear Sports Talk with Jay and Dave, though. You can tell Jay just wants to have fun and be funny and converse without a CBS umbrella over him. If his show doesn't pan out who knows it's a perfect medium for someone like Mohr.

I have to say that Dave and Sam have an easy interaction with one another but something just doesn't feel right.

Maybe over time it would change, but the unbridled enthusiasm of Dave needs a strong personality to counter balance it and keep it in check. I'm not completely sold that Sam is that personality. Again, I understand they've just started working together and may need to find their niche, so I won't go as far as Jay and say Dave should dump Sam. I do think he (Dave) should keep his eyes and ears open, though.

It seems like no matter who gets chosen to fill the Saturday night spot, the majority of callers are truckers. Let's be honest; most people are busy on a Saturday night and won't spend 3 hours listening to a radio show. Beggars can't be choosers, I suppose.

When I say the calls about fucking Beanie were fun for an hour, I really meant it. They were hilarious... for an hour. I don't know who was to blame for the show stagnating there, but that's what happened. Someone should've made the call to ease up on the phones and they didn't. That's why the podcasts were ready for radio, IMO, and last night's show was a small step backwards. Still a funny show, but a B- this time around.
