As for the topic, I think everyone feels the need to defend where they're from. Others who have never lived there have a completely unrealistic view sometimes, and when you know better because you were born and raised there you feel like you have to correct someone speaking so ignorantly about your home.

All of this local pride talk makes me miss the west coast. There are tons of things wrong with LA but at least you don't get jackasses bragging about how proud they are to be an Angelino. I can understand what your saying Underdog. But I bet even you are proud of where you came from. You might not voice it, but I imagine you are. We all are, in a "it's my hometown" sort of way. I'm sure there are the exceptions. Like maybe you came from a broken home and your childhood was a mess and your neighbors killed all your pets with a garden trowel, or something. Or maybe you flunked out of school and lived on the streets selling your ass for cigs and cough syrup. There would be no pride in that.

But I think the majority of the folks that grew up in world had a decent childhood and are fond of their roots and such. Just because you have something against NJ or Bruce Springsteen, and you might not. You probably just used them as an example. But none the less, someone else might find themselves proud of that fact. Just like there are things your proud of. Like your Kids or Job or being able to take 11 inches up your twat. Whatever.

It's kind of strange. Here, it's the total opposite.
Everyone is "ready to get the fuck out of Indiana". But it's not the worst place you could live. There's shit to do, some sports teams, it's really ok. I enjoy it. I doubt I die here or anything, but it's an enjoyable place to live.
