Well let's see, Dice made rhymes, discusses midgets and is senile. Sam was funny and intelligent and groundbreaking.

Sam was and still is the King of Comedy, IMO. He and Bill Hicks are probably the two most talented comedians of the past 20 years or so, and it's a shame that they both left us so early.

But maybe it's a good thing, huh? At least they didn't get a chance to grow old and become stale like Dice.

Not necessarily true. Guys like Sam used topical news material for his act. Dice uses the fact that midgets haven't been wiped off the face of the earth.

And it's true, with the exception of Carlin, most GREAT comedians die early- Sam, Bill, Lenny.

I would have to say Sam. Dice stole so much material from Kinison and other people performing in that genre, that it's almost legendary. He stole the nursery rhymes from Otto & George. I could go on, but the list is too long.

Another poignant comparison. Sam had the hilarious small role as the Vietnam scarred teacher in Back to School (say it!!! SAY IT!!!).

Dice starred in Ford Fairlane and a CBS TV sitcom.
