What I want to know is, why in this day and age can we still not find cheese in a good Kosher restaurant? Technology has advanced, we have the refrigerator...cheese is good and needs to be on burgers and some sandwiches!!

Not last night, but in general if you go to Kosher places on Long Island you will not find cheese being served.

A few places for example...

Deli King in Lake Success, you can go to the Dairy King right next door after you get your sammich and buy some cheese but it's a pain!

Ben's Kosher Deli - all over

Patrami in Hempstead

Boomy's in Plainview

Zan's in Lake Grove

All have great food, and no cheese

there are other delis in those areas that aren't kosher, why not go to one of them?

Cause they couldn't call themselves a KOSHER deli if they served dairy and meat.

True, but they don't serve and prepare some food and sandwiches nearly as good as the Kosher ones do. It's a completely different experience. For example, you can get corned beef or pastrami at most regular deli's, but it's usually not nearly as good as you would get it in a Kosher deli.

Maybe we could open a sliced cheese store next to the kosher delis. Kinda like those strip clubs that dont serve liquor but there are liquor and bars in the front that are considered seperate businesses. Then we rake in the gelt.

That's the thing, I've never ordered a burger at one of those places because I generally like cheese on it. Instead I'll get turkey or corned beef, pastrami, etc. There are times I would like to have some cheese with the turkey also.

I don't think lettuce and tomato belong on any sandwich. Meat, cheese, bread, condiments that is all. Anything else is a fucking salad.

I know that. I was just kidding by suggesting that they need to move on from that. I totally get the Kosher thing, I was just having fun with it.

For example though, in New Jersey they have Harrold's NY Deli, the corned beef and pastrami is very similar to Kosher style but they also serve cheese.

i do enjoy cheese on a turkey sandwich, but again, i won't order turkey in a jew deli either. i stick with the classics. lean corned beef on rye with mustard & a square k'nish. mmm....

but if i go to a diner & order a turkey sandwich on a roll, it's getting lettuce & american cheese put on.
