I had a similar problem with cablevision a few years ago,
we argued about it for a while, but in the end I paid what they
said I owed, then I cancelled everything.

The next day I get a phone call from them saying they will refund my
money if I come back. By this point I had already bought a Satelite Dish
from BestBuy.

Where I happen to live, and the areas around it that I go, don't really get service that well for anyone but Verizon. Im kinda fucked in the ass on this one. Plus its 275 to terminate a contract that ends in April

I'm not reading anything on this thread other than the title and I'd just like to add:

Yes - fuck verizon in it's fucking asshole. And it's reps.

And I don't like the big V on it's logo.

Reminds me of reptilian overlords.

Fucking scary.

I get fucked all the time by the "can you hear me now: guy

Its Data or or minutes used on the internet,. my $40 Bill 9 add $6 for Insurance and $10 for unlimited text plus taxes makes it around $65. I am usually at $90-$130 due to Data being used on Games and Internet, it cost $1.99 for each KB used

I could by a $90 plan, but fuck that

Did you happen to hit one of the quick nav buttons on the face of your phone to just start the web navigation? I've done that, and I think it acesses a little data just for starting it because I got a "Data Transfer" fee on my bill one month and I have never looked at any web content on my phone.

It doesn't explain the $27 but it may account for a couple bucks.

Verizon is the best game in town as far as coverage and they sure fucking act like it too. They know you either put up with their shitty customer service and bizzare bill discrepencies or you go with a company with no coverage.

Yea, that got me in the butthole too. Then I put on the $10 unlimited texting thing. THen I yelled at people to STOP FORWARDING ME EVERY GAY THING THEY GET TEXTED BECAUSE I DON'T GIVE A FUCKING SHIT ABOUT YOUR LAME JOKES and lowered it to the 250 messages for $5. That one works for me now.

ipay 40 for unlimited internet/bb/ thanks to an employee plan......

and snoogans have you ever left your phone anywhere? or with anyone? its a bit of a joke that people like to play and dl stuff on others people phones.... sadly you're responsible for anything done with your phone.

if someone steals your phone and uses it, you're responsible for anything that happened before you reported stolen as well......crazzzzy

if you don't plan on using internet or media texts with them have them disable that feature entirely.
They charge you per kb and even some image texts you get will count against that.
Ask them to give you detailed billing on the data charges.

I told my friends not to text me either. If you want to tell me something, call and leave a message. My chick forgot about the texting and text me. I told her didn't I tell you not to text me. And she was like "are you cheating on me?". WTF.

That's a bit of a ripoff that they charge $1.99 for each kb.

I know AT&T's coverage in NY/NJ supposedly sucks, but I rarely pay over $70 a month for everything, with unlimited internet.

most offer unlimited texting for 10 bucks a month.
I don't have it but I have like 200 a month... I rather get a text then having to listen to voice mail and getting back to people...

I do not use Verizon for my mobile phone but I do want to throw this in:

I have a Verizon Mobile Broadband card that is billed separately from my home phone and of course my mobile phone (AT&T)

We are all used to paying a few dollars more than our plan indicates ($40 a month mobile phone bill is more like $50 or higher, even if you don't go over your minutes, text or use data) because of all the taxes, fees, surcharges they tack onto the bill.

Why is my Data card bill for my $59.99/month plan only $60.07? They only add 8 fucking cents to this thing while they would add at least $8 a month if I talked on it. It's all digital data and this card has a phone number so It is a phone being used as a modem. It's all the same shit to them, Cellular data going to a mobile device.

Some of the $8 a month is the government being dicks, but then Verizon/AT&T/whoever will charge you for fucking text messages? Why is plan text data more valuable that voice or other data? My phone has unlimited data but not texting. Fuck you, Verizon and AT&T

It took me forever to cancel the Verizon MobileWeb service that was costing me an extra $20 a month that I wasn't even using. You can't cancel it via the internet and you can't cancel it from your cell phone. You can to call customer service on a separate line to get it canceled, which most people under the age of 30 don't have.

Text messaging charges are obscene, when you consider the minuscule amount of data they actually use.

AT&T’s Text Messages Cost $1,310 per Megabyte (http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/07/01/atts-text-messages-cost-1310-per-megabyte/)

It makes much more sense for me to use mobile IM on the iPhone, since it's free (aside from the $10 a month for unlimited data). Unfortunately, everyone seems to love to text these days.

text messaging is a huge scam, there was supposed to be a senator starting a committee or some crap to investigate.

its why verizon doesn't include wifi on most of their phones, to get you to pay for the data plan...

Snoogs my Daughter ran up a $346 bill by texing on my cell and hers i dont text . she also told me she didn't download 3 songs this month, and i know she wouldn't lie to Daddy. if you call611 from your phone and get the RIGHT person, they will work with you. they cut that $346 in half and back to my normal bill of $117 a month:wink:

They didn't put it on the new Blackberry Storm, which, to me, is a total dealbreaker on that one.
