I'm looking to get a little fucked up so I can stand being around the in-laws this holiday season, but I want a tasty beverage too. Little help rf.net!

I saw a recipe for a drink online yesterday called "Christmas Tree Shots". Equal parts Creme de Menthe, Baily's, and Grenadine. That sounded interesting.

Any other creative ways to spike the familys egg nog???

Its kind of a sissy drink but if you want to feel like more than the worst thing you can call a man use the 100 proof version. Hot cocoa and either hot damn or peppermint schnapps.

Liquid Crack: Go to a .99 store and purchase 12 ounce tumblers with assorted Christmas themes. Fill a cup with ice, add gingerale and Captain Morgans rum.

Then the sangria I made yesterday is perfect. Tastes like fruit punch.

I got the recipe from TheNest.com but it came from a drink recipe book called 101 Sangria and Pitcher Drinks.

It's got two kind of offbeat ingredients (hibiscus tea and Hendrick's gin) but it'll get you nice and happy in no time.

Right before prop 8 was repealed. Sometimes I forget what in laws means.

Those sound like some good ideas. Maybe I'll try that sangria.

And every other day of the year I can drink Jameson or blackberry brandy from a flask you animals. Trying something different with the relatives.

The sangria recipe is as follows:

1 bottle dry white wine (I used an $8 bottle of white Rioja from Wegman's)
2 cups brewed and cooled hibiscus tea (I used Celestial Seasonings Red Zinger)
1/2 cup simple syrup
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup orange curacao (I actually used Grand Marnier because I had that on-hand)
1/4 cup Hendrick's Gin (Yes, it makes a difference.)
1 lemon, sliced
1 orange, sliced
1 liter 7-Up

Combine all ingredients EXCEPT 7-Up in glass or ceramic container, mix and let sit for at least 4 hours in the fridge.

To serve, fill a 19-oz glass about halfway with the sangria mixture and top with 7-Up. They recommended garnishing each glass with a lemon wheel and an orchid, but I used mandarin orange flavored rimming sugar and orange slices instead.

I love you. Sangria's my drink. It was Jameson for awhile, but Sangria was all I had at my house during a rough patch and I learned to drink it by the pint and I never got a hangover. I drank shitty sangria too, but this sounds delicious.

I'll be drinking jack and diet coke all night, but for dessert we're going to have grasshoppers: creme de menthe and creme de cacao mixed with ice cream.

Sort of an alcohol shake.

Mango Rum in a Cincinnati Reds shot glass.

This recipe also comes in handy after a typical Reds game during the summer.
