View Full Version : Bad parking
I was just out and about, and couldn't help but notice some horrifically bad parking. Seriously, why must people use the excuse of snow or bad weather to park like idiots? Sort of like this:

These people are clearly a nuisance, how should they be punished?

The problem is that this picture doesn't tell the whole story. That guy might have just parked next to someone else who was parked over the line and was just making the best of the situation. In fact, there could have been a whole row of cars parked shittily, then when everyone else left, he looks like the asshole.
I was at a liquor store last week and as I went in, there were 2 vehicles parked in the fire lane (one had someone sitting in it the other didn't). When I came out of the store both were still sitting there. As I walked to my car, I saw a police car pull up next to the car with someone sitting in it and motioning them to move. The police car then parked behind the other car and wrote up a ticket and placed it on the windshield.
I was so happy to see this that I decided to sit in my car and wait for the car owner to come out and see his ticket. Obviously he wasn't happy. He grabbed the ticket, balled it up and threw it into his car and drove away.
Good enough for you, you lazy asshole. :devil2:

This is a true and valid point, I think most of us realize, however i was just looking for any reason to chastise someone.

There aren't too many parking lots in my neck of the woods but people who take up two spots next to the curb deserve to have their cars turned upside down and pushed onto the train tracks..
I think it all boils down to people's self importance..Some many people think the the world totally revolves around them and ONLY them..It's actually a state of mind that our society seems to stoke, especially with Generation Play Station..Most of them don't know the effort that goes into being a team player..everything to them is a ONE player game and everyone else is just here for their convenience..

My problem is that someone initially parked poorly and I don't care who is punished for this crime.

It also appears that the Kia is right hand drive.

Agreed, it's all a part of our self-interest driven society as opposed to other countries (namely third world countries) where the interest is placed on what's good for the family, not what's good for oneself.. obviously this mentality has trickled outside the family household.

You guys have perfectly described the "hooray for me, fuck you" attitude that I rail against on a daily basis. So many people truly believe they're the center of the universe and it's sickening.
People even do it in the supermarket; they leave their cart in the middle of the aisle so it's impossible to pass on either side and they wander off looking at the shelves.
These types of people are also fond of stopping their car in the middle of the road if they spot someone they know walking on the sidewalk and start a conversation right there, even though there's plenty of space to pull over along the curb.
It absolutely astounds me.

I know the feeling, especially this time of the year, people just seem to have no sense of their surroundings.

The supermarket and parking lot thing speak to a much deeper, philosophical thing that jonyrotn and RoseBlood touched on.
Some people fully and wholly believe the only way to be happy is to do what makes them happy right at that moment. Funny how they usually turn out to be the most miserable bastards you'd ever want to meet.

Those people are the worst! And when you honk at them they look surprised and pissed off that you would do that. Like it would be so much trouble to turn the wheel and pull over.

These are the same people who drive in the left lane and then speed up when you try to pass them on the right.
When I had my minivan that I didn't care about, I'd punish them this way :

MY building at work was built in 79 so the parking garage still has spots labeled "Compact Cars ONLY" without fail EVERY SUV in the garage will be jammed into those spots, an NOWHERE else.

In my picture, you can actually see one of those signs. The only reason I parked there was to be a dick to that guy.
It was the FIRST level of the garage! If you want to park in two spots, at least do it at the top of the garage or the end of the parking lot, where no one wants to park.
I constantly see people parking in the no parking area right next to handicap parking spots, too, like its better than actually parking in the spot.
