Does anyone recall this author?

Ron interviewed an author a couple of months back, who was some kind of scientist and had written a book about time travel or string theory as a novel for younger readers.

This would make a good Christmas gift, if only I could remember his name.

That's it! the book title is Icarus at the Edge of Time.
