Let me start by saying that I am a HUGE fan of the show and listen everyday. I haven't posted much in the past, but I do check the boards and play XBOX with a few of you.
In an attempt to think outside myself this year... I am climbing Mt. Shasta (14K ft) in California this June with a team of breast cancer survivors as a fund raiser.
My husb even bought me an INNO so that I don't miss the show while I am training (which is a LOT now!) and so that will be able to listen on my way up the Mtn. on summit day! I also set up a blog that I can post to from my cell phone so I can send video and pics from the trail too!
My good friend, Tammy Herrera is the inspiration for my climb. Tammy was 36 yrs old when she died June 14, 2006 from aggressive breast cancer. She loved a challenge, especially in the outdoors, and motivated me and many others. I am choosing to climb this mountain to honor Tammy’s memory and all of those who have struggled with breast cancer, and to raise funds to support the efforts of the Breast Cancer Fund.
Every dollar you donate is very much appreciated! I am paying my own expenses for the climb, so you can be assured that 100% your donation will go directly to helping prevent breast cancer.
To donate, please visit my website at: www. breastcancerfund. org/climb09/julieq (http://www.breastcancerfund.org/climb09/julieq)
With a donation of $100 or more I will carry a prayer flag with me to fly on the top of Mt. Shasta in honor, or in memory of a loved one.
Thanks in advance for you support, and please forward this along to anyone you know who has be touched by the disease!
You can also follow my training and fundraising progress on my blog: http://quillins.blogspot.com/
Thanks very much, and Merry Christmas to you all!
Jules
