Greek Orthodox is also on the 6th....it is actually the original date for Christmas (as greeks were the first christians, after all) and then the Catholics moved it to the 25th to downplay the pagan festival that coincided with that date

She claimed that there was some agreement between the G.O church and the R.C. church. And for some reason she would insist that the Russian Orthodox people were wrong in what day they celebrate Christmas. I wonder if the "agreement" was something she made up in her own mind, since she was married to a RC, or if there was some truth to it.

Well, i dont know about all that, but my family does the 25th, just so the neighbors dont think we are wierder than we already are ( i.e. bbq'ing lamb in the backyard for easter, etc)

We did both, but not both at our house. Christmas (the 25th) was at my house. Russian Christmas was at my Grandmother's. Same with Easter, RC Easter here, R.O. easter at grandma's. That way all bases were covered.
