Anybody give people a little extra during the holidays? I'll do so when I go out to eat and for my letter carrier, I guess I get off easy with only a couple people to tip.

going through this dilema now

i have the mailman and garbage men to tip

but the mailman is not always the same guy, so depending on what day i tip him the other guy is going to be pissed

I give my mailman stamps. Cause if he works for the Post Office, he must really enjoy mailing stuff. Go crazy Frank! Don't forget to send a S.A.S.E.!

I say give a little (or alot) extra, whatever you can afford during the Holiday season.

Hairdressers, wait staff, etc.. don't be cheap, show these people you appreciate their services, especially the ones who rely heavily on tips as their main source of income.

I plan on tipping all of the phone screeners that let my nonsense get on air. That means you get nothing Cream Pie Jones, how dare you say "From Where?" when I tell you "My name's LLEEDER". Its RONFEZ.NET!!!!!!!!!!!!

It has been illegal for Postal workers to accept tips for over 50 years. Just saying.

Yup, that doesn't mean that they don't allow people to give them Holiday gifts. ;) ;)

I was going to tip the garbage men, but my told me that they make almost 50000 here.
So I told him to help me get a job with them.

My usual list is my garbage men, mail carriers, favorite bartenders, newspaper carrier and my usual masseuse. I don't have a doorman, assistant or handyman, and I do my own lawn work, so that's about all.

I am usually a little more generous with tips during the holiday and I always leave something for my mail carrier, usually something coffee oriented since she is a coffee nut.

i don't tip the mailman.... oh well.

if i have leftover shopping money, i prefer to give people i know who are awesome people surprises in the mail or on their doorstep. it rarely happens, but this year i did have a couple of extra bucks to "tip" with.

oh.
and i have Gvac guilt because i never EVER tipped the gas pumper (because i grew up in a REAL state where we aren't FORCED to let someone else pump the gas for us... ) so i will toss a couple of bucks at the attendant moreso during the holidays than otherwise...

I will say that getting an extra tip from a regular at the diner I used to work at was always appreciated around the holidays.
