After 2 years of saving up ever dollar I could, biting the bullet and moving home I closed on a Condo in Stamford CT today. This whole process thankfully is over. The mortgage process especially was brutal, I had to prove my salary, assets, I needed a down payment, needed at least a 720 credit score and I had to pay down about 15K worth of debt. My advice to anyone is to make sure your credit is stellar, and you can prove everything from debt to assets. The days of giving money to anyone with a heartbeat are over. I think the mortgage process should have been like this all along with strict guidelines

This happened to me 3 years ago for the first time. I always said - when I get my shit together and get a small space of my own - I'll really be able to work on the things I need to do. It was true.

Congratulations to you - enjoy. And your repairs and improvements can start now too. They'll never end, but it's a good thing.

Especially if your house was built in 1929. Congrats!!

Congrats, dude. It's a great feeling. Jealous that you're living in Stamford. We were looking 2 years ago and couldn't afford it and a lot of places wouldn't take pets. I'm originally from Greenwich. We ended up moving to Putnam county in NY because the taxes were cheaper and there wasn't much in the Fairfield county market place when we searched. Enjoy it, you have something that is worth every cent and all the stress, agita and aggravation of the process. Plus if you're really a wrestling fan, your near the office of the big man. It's gotta be worth something (c:

Congratulations to you, yes it has been a lot of trouble but believe me it is worth it. Real estate of almost any sort is probably the best investment you can make.

WRESTLINGFAN,

Good job on getting the home. If you pay a few extra dollars each month, you will be surprised how much sooner it will get paid off.

I was looking at places near the WWE HQ. That was in the Cove area of Stamford. The rason why taxes are low because there are a lot of companies that generate tax revenue and no county government which saves on redundancy costs

but, in the summer, they have massive free concerts, Alive @ 5, and the bars stay open a bit later.

Oh, and congrats WRESTLINGFAN.

I would never have caught this joke except for an episode of Beavis and Butthead - that I had to rewatch a few times till I picked it up - Mike Judge had Anderson saying "ho-moaner" (homeowner) and the two of them just cracking up - then Anderson would say it again and they'd go off even more - just on and on like that for about 4 or so interchanges. I fucking love Beavis and Butthead and the girl I used to fuck in college in 1993 who brought me a turkey sandwich while I was watching it one day with a broken foot in her parents' house. That was a great summer. Now I'm off topic.

Our friends used them up here in Brewster. She said the following
1) They weren't great at cleaning up after themselves
2) They tried to upsell you a lot and get you to use their credit plan & buy most expensive stuff (Truly though, what retailer doesn't?)

Other than that she said it was a good experience. If you do decide to use them please post on your experience. We're also thinking about it, so we're trying to see how it works out for others.

We used them for carpeting a room, they came fast and did a good job but left a mess. No one can upsell Jeff on anything, he is super Jew.

laminate floors are super easy to do yourself, and they look pretty good.

The tounge-and-groove snaps together and there are just a few cuts to make. I did my 12' X 30' room in about 5 hours with only my brother and roommate to help.

Don't forget the kistchy 70's jingle: "Eight hundred five eight eight, two three hundred...Empiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiire"
