View Full Version : Earl's Terrible Bet

Was Earl's terrible radio bet that the Jets would just win, or that the Jets would make the playoffs?
I thought it started off as making the playoffs, but he seemed to get non-committal to that as the conversation carried on.
It will at least give him an out so he can not pay off a bet. Again.
Although, the stupid Jets will probably end up losing anyway.

There's no way he pays off this bet.
and Ron tried to get him to agree that if Earl loses the bet, he won't be able to watch the inauguration, but I never heard if Earl actually agreed.

Oh Earl, will you ever win?
So what's the bit? He has to sit through the Jan. 20 show with a blindfold and those noise-canceling headphones, Guantanamo Bay style?
Won't that keep him from contributing to the show? :innocent:

Even as a Patriots fan part of me was pulling for the Jets to lose so Earl would lose the bet. If the Pats made the playoffs they would have lost in the first or second round anyway. Have fun not watching history Earl.

That would be the only good thing to come out of this boring bet. Earl doesnt watch tv that will probably be simulcast on the show...

And thats another bet that has no real payoff...
Earl should leave the show, go around the country on a listening tour, and never ever come back to the ron and fez show

It's strange how the other side of the bets rarely get mentioned when they come up with their bets.

the Ron & Fez Show staff never seem to consider what they win if they actually win their bets. and they often don't bet against anyone other than themselves.
btw, what's the bet on the Battle of the Beards? is it just a pride bet, or is something on the line?

He and Dave seem to make the one sided bets. Why risk something without possibility of reward? Or is it a risk?

I think there's money on the line. All Dave Fez bets are just a way for Dave to pick up some extra cash.

A lot of these "bets", aren't bets at all. Like this one.
This was simply Earl "guaranteeing" that the Jets will beat the Dolphins.
No one "bet" him that they wouldn't. Ron simply asked what Earl would do if they lost.
There was nothing to gain, and being able to watch the Inauguration ceremony to lose.

What a weird thing to put on the line...it got everyone talking about this game, but theres no chance Earl doesnt watch this in studio/see clips/hear the speech online or something.
I just really hope that this keeps earl out of studio for that week/all of black history month.
Maybe that should be another bet...earl leaves for all of black history month/forever
No way Earl pays off this bet.
Did Dave pay off his (Earl gets to punch him if the Jets go 8-8 or better)? No one pays off bets why should Earl be different

They should just start beating everyone who loses a bet with a bamboo stick. What good is making a bet if noone gets hurt in the end? Dave may actually like that though.

I thought the original bet was that the Jets would win at least 11 games, they made it right when Favre got traded.

That's what Earl originally said they would win and was the start of the bet. Then Ron talked Dave and Fez down to .500 ball
