I recently blew off all music on my ipod, and I am starting fresh.

What are some of the essential albums all of you recommend? I listen to almost everything, except country and emo music.

So far I've put every Avenged Sevenfold, Thrice, and 311 album on their.

I have some ideas, but given what you have loaded up already, I'm guessing you aren't going to be too into my suggestions.

It's a live multi disc set. I highly recommend it. Jam-band but not commercial jam band.

But I listen to everything. Trust me, i was just looking for suggestions and to broaden my listening.

I just loaded a bunch of The Band up, going after funk and jazz next.

I appreciate all of the suggestions though. :)

If you like studio perfection, dark-sarcastic lyrics and hate The Eagles...

You're welcome.

If you want jazz:

"Kind of Blue", Miles Davis
"A Love Supreme", John Coltrane
"Mingus Ah Um", Charles Mingus
"Out to Lunch", Eric Dolphy

Those are absolute jazz necessities.

But I listen to everything.

No you don't. You said you don't listen to country or "emo" (whatever that actually means to you), yet the Band is ultra-countrified. Make up your goddamn mind.

By discog, do you mean the album "Energy" are are you included all the bootlegs with horrendous sound quality?

I have no problem with horrendous sound quality, but I mean the Energy, Hectic, and Turn it Around release that Lookout did.

Thank you all for the suggestions. My mention of what I put on my ipod in the original post was just a toss out, not a statement about music I wanted to hear that was similar.

No reason for someone to get all angry about it, and yell about the "shit music" I listen to, even though I was asking for music suggestions in the first place. Your "board attitude" is yawntastic and loser corny.

What's a "board attitude?"
