So anybody else sing at the top of their lungs in the car? I was listening to My Morning Jacket this morning fucking belting out the tune...I'm amazed! I usually have to strain a brain muscle not to sing in the work truck or in the car with others. How about yous?

I sing in the car... loud and badly... but usually when I am alone.
If I do it with Lukas in the car he will sometimes join me and if I sing badly he will tell me to "Stop it mommy!"

Ohhhhh... only constantly! I do some of my best singing in the car by myself. I don't care too much if there's someone else listening. I've definitely been known to annoy people with my singing. There's just not too much in the world that feels better than belting out a song you love.
I also used to share a bedroom with my sister when I was really little and she tells sometimes about how I used to sing myself to sleep and also sing IN my sleep. I don't remember though.

lmao... no...we sing more current music...
I also love when Lukas just sits back and starts bopping his head to Nirvana and music alike... probably not child friendly music... but he also likes Ray Charles... so it all balances out.

I sing walking around my house, and I sing in my car. Hell, I'll sing out loud in bars and other public places. I have very litle shame and a beautiful singing voice.

I used to drive around with a big hands free cellphone headset on, the old kind with big mic out in front. This way I could sing as loud as I wanted and the people who drove by me would just think I was yelling at someone on the phone.
plus the mic made me feel like a diva

of course i sing in the car and shower..
sometimes it's more a hum because i'm so tone deaf and sing horribly, i can't bear to listen..
sometimes i fool myself into thinking i sound decent..
i find i have to use more restraint to keep from moving in the car to a good song than singing.

Blech. Love MMJ, but that album REALLY let me down. I hope they get back on track.

The price of pot has gone up. They needed a more commercially viable album.

That's the last thing I'd call an album this scattershot and schitzo and just plain ol' sloppy.

Ninjas are the antithesis of spazdom. Silent. Calm. Collected. Patient.

yeah, but they cut songs to 4 minutes and had a verse/chorus structure w/out extended jams. for them, i would call that a move to commercial.
and "i'm amazed" is a flat-out single. i don't particularly love it, but its more radio-friendly than anything else they have.

Good point about the strong structures. I guess it was the combo of that ad then how the songs were all over the place. I'm all for experimentation, as they have done with each abum, but this just seemed so random and nothing really stuck for me. It felt like a castoff b-sides collection.

It is definitely scattered. The Prince-lite stuff is unusual. It's not their best album, but I like it as a change of pace. I do hope the next one revisits some of the earlier sound, though.

To a degree, yeah. I don't want them to retreat to something safe...just be more focused the next time out.

I can't say that. I like the album but they've had better work.
