I saw Pootertoot mention something about Fraggle Rock in GD so it led me here to discuss old HBO shows you remember as a kid.
Fraggle Rock for one was the best!
I loved Water Babies too.

I can't remember the exact title but I think it was called Downhome Otter Christmas, which totally rocked.

Oh and I remember the intro for HBO before any movie or show where they made the camera go from a cliff to above a city at night....something like that.

Fraggle Rock used to be one of my favorite shows when I was little. The fucking Gorks in that show were nasty beasts that should've been eaten by the Doozers...

How about "Video Jukebox"? They would play it between movies.Fraggle Rock killed. I always wondered if there was like a postal Doozer that got really pissed every time they broke the structure.Jr.Gorg killed me every time. Wembley was cool too.

How the fuck did I miss this post before?

Fraggle Rock is one of the greatest kid shows of all time.

I believe I've already stated this, but I felt really bad for the Doozers. They'd spend their days and nights, tirelessly building these magnificent structures out of mere Doozer sticks, only to have the Fraggles came along to eat them at their whim. And the Fraggles had the nerve to complain about the Gorgs trying to eat them. Someone brought up that the Gorgs' son seemed retarded, and I think that's a brilliant description. He was probably just trying to hug them, as retards love to hug.

I loved how they put on a big production number for the theme song, and at the end, the last puppet to say "Down in Fraggle Rock" amounted to a sock with some yarn on it. I guess they ran out of money.

Do any of ya'll remember a cable system named WHT ??
It was a subsciption service like HBO, but the sound came out of the box, not the television.
Maybe it was just a NY thing.
It was probably early 80's.

get a huge antenna put on your
roof, and at night they would
show movies. You would tune
to UHF channel 68 and turn the
box on. We thought it was the
greatest! Bonus points if you
remember what WHT stood for.

I remember Brain Games and hell yes I remember Hardcore TV. Hardcore TV was the perfect show for pre-adolescents who didn't sleep and had HBO because it really was (God how times have changed) was the first weekly full out nudity I remember seeing. From the Elves and the Dildo Maker to Raging Bull Wink to Perverted Fairy Tales it was definitely a pretty funny show actually.

And Circus Boy, though they aren't promoting it, a Mr. Show movie (Run Ronnie Run) is in post production. If it's half as funny as the show I think we're all in for a big treat.
