Hey there Dr. Steve, I have a question for myself this time. For years I have been plagued by occasionally bad breath. I thought it was my because perhaps I didn't brush enough but one day about 6 years ago I saw a horrific yellow lump in the back of my throat. On later investigation I found that if I pushed on the back of my throat this awful smelling yellow shit came out and my bad breath went away. Now I will have fine breath for a while and sometimes I will have to waterpik a hole I have in my throat to clear it out.

Recently I saw on my local CBS news channel that there is a name for this problem and a treatment. They call them tonsil stones and a doctor in NY found that lasering them eliminates them and makes them go away for good. Now after this long winded discussion, my question is have you heard of this problem, if so have you heard of this treatment, and what doctor would I have to go to for treatment? Is this a common problem by the way because I know 2 other people with this exact same issue? Thank you.

Wow I didn't know it was that common other people would post about it. Thanks!

yeah, it's nuts, isn't it? I first heard about these things on Dr Dean's show...he'd answer a question a week about tonsil nuggets. Very common indeed!
