I was just watching Weekend At Bernies (FANTASTIC), and they started running this scrolling message on the bottom of the screen. I guess there's gonna be no Comedy Central, MTV, VH1, Nickalodeon, and some other channels on Time Warner anymore starting Jan 1st.

Because Viacom wanted a $.25 increase.

What a load of shit. I basically only watch cable for Comedy Central. Cable Companies stink. The other choice around here is Brighthouse, and they don't get CBS. CBS!! You can't watch the Colts games if you have Brighthouse.

Cable is fucking stupid.

I missed a whole season of Yankee games because of Cablevision and YES. Fucking bastards.

This is a bunch of fucking horse shit. Time Warner raised my bill an extra $20 a month and now they are taking away the majority of the channels I watch? Then when I call they have no answers for me? Fuck that....you deal with me now!

Tell you what Time Warner, if the channels go black tomorrow, I cancel my service. Even if they plan to come back on Jan 2nd. I want to get Verizon Fios anyway.

At least it looks like you have a 24/7 anime channel coming soon.

Yeah, I saw that last night on Comedy Central. Looks like DirecTV will probably be getting some new customers. I have Charter though, so it shouldn't affect me.

TWC doesn't show Orioles and Nationals games here in North Carolina despite the fact that three arbitration rulings say they have to.

It's all a scam, and soon they'll go to an a la carte system where you pick your channels.

Everyone who wants to watch the Yankees can pay for it and I won't have to.

If Viacom wants to bundle their channels as a package and offer that, then I'll buy that.

But the way it is now, I have no real choice. It's either pay what they tell me to, or have no cable.

they keep scrolling a prompt for us to call time warner ... not sure what a few calls will do in a battle of multi-national companies

not so devastated, but my son adores blue's clues and the rest of noggin ... just a little bit more disney on demand (handy manny) and on-line clips ... sure as hell not going to buy viacom/time warner DVDs while they scwabble away

I just want to be able to pay for the channels I watch and not have to help pay for Fox News or all these Jesus channels with my cable bill.

I just want to be able to pay for the channels I watch and not have to help pay for Fox News or all these Jesus channels with my cable bill.

Those Jesus channels are mostly UHF stations that the cable companies have to carry by law.

If this is anything like what happened to those of us with Cablevision, Time Warner will wind up paying the increase (minus a small amount, of course, so they can say they beat down Viacom) and they'll pass the increase on to you.

aside from the occasional CSI rerun on Spike, or Spongebob on Nick (which was much funnier when i used to partake in activities that make cartoons seem funnier), i won't even notice if Viacom gets pulled.

Is CBS itself staying?

Comedy Central sucks though. They just started showing Futurama episodes.

Midnight deal keeps cable mix (http://www.jsonline.com/business/36964069.html)
Viacom, Time Warner settle over price of programming

Facing a midnight deadline and a backlash from TV viewers furious at the prospect of losing "SpongeBob SquarePants" and "Dora the Explorer," two media giants reached an 11th hour accord late Wednesday in their high-stakes showdown over a new programming agreement.

That's right. TVLand currently is running MASH for your viewing pleasure.

Now I can watch The Twilight Zone Marathon in peace.

I still hate you Time Warner for giving me all those problems getting my basement cable on the same bill as my first floor cable.
