The second electric guitar I ever bought was a black Telecaster, as a tribute to my country hero.

We got to get the band back together. I'll play rhythm. You got Lead. We'll come together on the vocals.

There tough cowboy exteriors would crumble when I would hit the first few chords to it. Thanks for the Song Gregory. Your TOPS in my book.

I'm a huge Waylon fan. My dad kind of looked like him. I love the Outlaws album. Hearing Waylon sing with his wife Jesse Colter is magical. And his duets with Willie (My other absolute favorite person in the world) are unbeatable.

A double AMEN!

I wish the quality was better on this one

And this is one of my favorite Waylon and Willie tunes -

Last year my band played an all acoustic show. I insisted on playing "The Wurlitzer Prize." They refused, saying it was "too country" so I did it solo.

When we finished, a couple came up to us outside and thanked me for playing it.

I don't care about the genre; if a song like this doesn't move you, you have no soul.

Absolutely.

If I have my druthers, it'll be in the Smoky Mountains with a bottle of Jack.

Darn Tootin' I like fig newtons.

Can't wait till you get closer. For some odd reason I'm really looking forward to it.

My Gal just shakes her head when I talk about it. She doesn't understand this connection I feel I have.

I can't believe it was 7 years ago today that Waylon passed away.

It seems much, much longer; most likely because of what country music has become.

Don't know his stuff as well as I do for other more contemporary country artists, but I definitely like him. Country's one of those genres where I hardly hear things I don't like.

Thanks for bumping this Gvac. I'm gonna listen to all my Waylon albums once the buddays are over.

So we lose Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper but we get to keep Waylon Jennings?

I'm ok with that.

Savage.

"Chantilly Lace" would have changed music forever.
