By now you may have already heard the news that Arnold Schwarzenegger will return to the big screen in a cameo role as himself in Sylvester Stallone's veteran-heavy action flick The Expendables. AICN broke the news last night, saying Arnie will play Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger -- that he'll be shooting for one day, and the Governor will have ties to Stallone's character, Barney Ross. Additionally, Latino Review adds that Danny Trejo has joined the flick, while AICN notes that Eric Roberts has replaced Ben Kingsley in a cast that already includes Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, Sandra Bullock, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren and Forest Whitaker. And I'm sorry, but if that retro badass cast can't churn out a fun flick, then I've lost all hope in humanity.
This movie is getting better and better.... or worse and worse!

It's getting better!
Sylvestor Stallone has roped in another Hollywood hardman to star in new action blockbuster The Expendables - Bruce Willis has confirmed he is on-board.
Stallone has lined up some of Tinseltown's toughest stars to appear in the movie - which focuses on mercenaries overthrowing a South American dictator - including Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham and Eric Roberts.
The Rambo actor has even enticed action hero-turned-California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to return to the big screen in a cameo role.
And now, Willis, who has long been rumoured to be appearing in the film, has confirmed he plans to shoot some high-octane scenes - insisting he's just waiting for Stallone to call him to the set.
He tells MTV.Com, "Not yet (filmed his scenes), I haven't united with them. I'm waiting for a call from Sly about when we're going to try and make that happen.
"I don't know anything about (my character) yet, haven't seen any pages yet. But I'm excited about it."
The last time the Willis teamed up with Stallone and Schwarzenegger was when the trio helped launch the Planet Hollywood restaurant chain in 1991.

Stallone's character is named Barney Ross?
I would almost rather the movie starred Barney Frank. It would be much more entertaining.

I think this movie is going to be awesome. Classic cast of almost all washed up but still awesome 80s and 90s action stars. I just hope they take the John Rambo route and make this very over the top and not worry too much about an actual story and making it have some real drama.

If Tarentino was directing it all of you would be frothing at the mouth. If it will be in a "meant to be" cheezy style then I am in but if it tries to be serious and is cheezy anyway, I am out.

What, you know the transformers were a stupid cartoon, hell I watched them all the time and I still dont know why they were on earth to begin with or why they just werent blown up for all the destruction they were causing.
Looks like it has potential to be enjoyable, hard R trash.
They are testing two versions PG13 and R, they are scared off by R movies not making huge numbers, kind of sucks so maybe just wait for the DVD and the R cut.

I really hope they go the R route. It just gets so annoying that everything is being ruined with this fucking PG-13 rating.
Oh, and I didnt see it posted but Stone Cold Steve Austin is another costar in this movie.
Oh and apparently this is Brittany Murphys last movie too.
It looks like it has the potential to be a really fun action movie. Lets hope they did it right.

I agree. I want to see some gratuitous female nudity too. 80's action movies are the best, I hope the genre makes a comeback.

Stallone fractured his neck filming a scene with Stone Cold Steve Austin:
Action movie icon Sylvester Stallone broke his neck while filming a fight scene in his latest film, it was revealed Wednesday.
Stallone was hurt shooting a scene with former wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin for action movie The Expendables which is set for release this summer.
Shooting for the film began in March 2009, but news of Stallone's injury was only just released.
"My fight was so vicious I got a hairline fracture in my neck. I had to have a very serious operation," Stallone said.
The Expendables also stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jet Li and Mickey Rourke.

Anyone see this? I can't spoiler mode from the phone so note, spoilers!
Make this movie a rental.
With the exception of some great action scenes (blowing up the dock from their plane was pure awesomeness), the movie was a dud due to an awful script (written by Stallone and another guy) and ZERO chemistry between the actors. In fact, the only slight glimmer of greatness came from Mickey Rourke, but he doesn't even get in on the action. Dolph Lundgren gets the LOL terrible lines (my favorite was when he called a guy "Insect!").
I think the editing was bad too, because when all the Expendables were talking together, there just seemed to be too many awkward silences. I think that had to be these guys taking the movie too seriously.
Terry Crews did kick ass with his giant gun though.

I disappointed with this movie most scenes were rambo and jason straham, and their girlfriends...
I thought if stallone would have worked more on plot and dialog and less on explosions and girlfriends I think it would have been better.
Expendables should be like Magnificent 7, Dirty Dozen..etc..not a god damn love story.
