I am a fairly new listener to the show (since nights) and have seen many references on the message board to the .com days. What or when were they? Was the show much different than it is now?

When R&F first came to New York the Show was called Ron & Fez.com along with the comedy bits they also checked out Web Sites. During the ".com" days losts of characters like "joe poo" "joe pee" and "foul month elmo" were born. Check the FAQ's section of this site for More Info.

I will always holde the dot.com days with nostalgia, since that was when I first started listening to Ron and Fez.
Plus some of those websites were just wonderfully fucked up. Who remembers mycrazygrandpa.com? Or my personal favorite website ever - fatchicksinpartyhats.com???

YES,the .COM days were special.Days of Tasteless Jenny and the Slave girl(who can forget how hard it was to open that mayo jar?) and the emergence of a frequent CALLER named Joe Poo.
A time when every night(11-3am) a new lewd website was explored...awww memories....

No, no, no!
Retard Martin and Foulmouth Elmo came about during the midday show.
And slave girl was better known as Useless Betty who ruined the whole token black thing Earl had going.
Damn, I batched to Betty every time she opened a can of mayonaise. She was hot, even though I knew the whole slave girl thing was so wrong!

Does anyone remember the Bush-Gore R+F battle/bet?
vegeta
01-03-2002, 02:32 PM
yeah, it was a bet that every dj does now and then.
I think Fez went with bush (which is odd sinc I heard that he's not into bush) and Ron went with Gore.
I don't remember who won the bet since the whole election was botched by some dujmb midwesterners with bad eyesight.

And then what? Why did she just suddenly stop working on the site? I don't understand why they put time into a domain name and just left it for dead. They could do so much with that site.

The dot com days introduced me to many awesome things, but the one that sticks out first and foremost is the "Quisp.com" web site. If not for the show, I would never know this magical cereal from the '60's and '70's was still being produced, but only in a select few markets. I immediately ordered a case, and shocked the hell out of my sister by showing up at her house with the breakfast of our youth.
Even though the show has changed and evolved, Ron and Fez still seem a little magical, don't they?

I was listening to the show back then and I'm pretty sure I remember Martin was a character back then. I didn't get to listen to much of the afternoon show until right before they went back to nights and I was already familiar with the character by then. If I remember correctly, Elmo came about right at the end of the .com period. There was a night, shortly before the day show began, where they decided to get rid of all the old characters, similar to the show they did recently, and Foul Mouthed Elmo called in then.
That's how I remember it.

The Babies ar now just known as the ladies of the Ron and fez show, which really doesn't roll off the tounge.
A few of us have gone into hiding, or are trying to drop the "baby" in front of our names.
The dot commando websites are still up on www.ronandfez.com and if you search google.com for ron and fez.com or ron and fez babies or dot commando (anything from .dom) youd be surprised at the number of websites that come up.

A long, long, time ago in a place not so far, far away. The boyz did the late show, and all was good. Al Dukes = Darth Drunken Dick
Hooray, We can say "Stuff your Ass" now! Damn, now I'm starving!
The .com days were a wonderful thing. I knew I was hooked on Ron and Fez when I realized I would stay up until 3am EVERY night even though I woke up for work at the time at 6. They were also wonderful because I just listened and didn't open my stupid mouth on air. I miss things that were unique to late night like the Closing Time Song at 2:30. The Weird Hour. Wake-Wake-Up Wife Guy. Ginny and Webby.
To be fair, the show wasn't as different as some people here like to contend. The core of the show is the same (that is, Ron and Fez being hilarious no matter the topic). Yes, the characters and callers were different and the pace was a bit slower, but I will argue point-to-point with anyone who wants to that the current show is as good, if not better. Change isn't a bad thing. Yes, it was great to be part of the early days and I have many fond memories, but reminiscing shouldn't be an excuse to vilify aspects of the current show.
How'd that turn into a rant?? Sorry. Blame Dunkin Donuts Coffee.

Just want to clarify: Retard Martin and Foul Mouth Elmo both visited the dot-com show; if I recall correctly, right around Christmas 2000, *just* before the move to days.
...and, just in case anyone's jonsing for dot-com stuff, some online quizzes:
http://www.selectsmart.com/RELIGION/ Which religion should you be?
http://www.selectsmart.com/FREE/select.php3?client=serialkillers Which Serial Killer are you most like?
www.4degreez.com/misc/personality_disorder_test.mv Which personality disorder do you have?
For the record: apparently, I should be a Unitarian Universalist or Secular Humanist, I would get along peachy with Robert Hansen: A model father and a
hard-working baker, Bob turned out to be the most active serial killer in Alaskan history. From 1973 to 1983, this expert pilot and avid hunter would fly hookers and topless dancers to his remote cabin hideaway in the
Alaskan wilderness for rape and murder. After repeatedly
sexually abusing his hapless victims he would set them
free in the freezing woods and hunt them down with his
high-powered hunting rifle.
...yeah, sounds like a guy I could grow old with.
Oh, and as for Personality disorders, I scored high on....
all of them.

And speaking of things that disappeared, what happened to tastelessginny.com? Did the feds put pressure on you?
And as soon as Ron and Fez moved timeslots for the first time, ronandfez.com became a wasteland. If I didn't know any better, I'd believe that Webby dropped off the face of the earth. She was around I think untill the Bush Gore election ended

Dan I do agree that the dot com show was what first hoked me from day one. I work nights trading asian and Eastern Europeans stocks so listening to them was a wonderful way to work. The old AFRO shows, the babies, the joe poo calls. the websites and people associated with them. The show has evolved as they were bounced around and tried to adapt to the time slots. the old untimed calls and leisurely visits, the characters like Wake-UP Guy, the Closing time song have given way to Quick calls, new characters and music but Ron and Fezz still have developed one HELL OF A GREAT SHOW. They will constantly do it in a style that is their unique way.
When in doubt let's play
