Hey everyone -- we surely missed being at Jeff's party last night but because Helen has been really sick (Thanks TooCute, she says)& dut to the fact no baby-sitters were to be found, we were unable to attend. In fact, this has been the 1st New Years Eve that we have spent just the 3 of us. Or make that rather 2 of us. You see, Helen was so sick, she was asleep when the bell struck 12. But Lenay said she would stay up with me a ring in the new year. Believe me, I have spent the last 2 years gigging on the Eve & have been drunk, blown-out, and crazy other Eves. But last night was one that I will always remember for the rest of my life. And that's because of my sweet little Lenay -- this was our 1st New Years Eve I have spent with her truly. Obviously, she was way to young the first 2 years & I wasn't around for the next 2 but I was blessed to have been able to celebrate with her last night.

She even had a little champagne in her little Snow White glass. We watched the ball come down & klinked our glasses. She only took a sip, please don't report me. I was very special. I know the younger board members may noy be able to understand, but it was very specail spending the evening with my daughter. One day I'm sure you'll get that feeling as well. We would have loved being at Jeff's party with all of you but I think it was meant to be. I guess some of you will consider this being wimpy but I just wanted to express myself. Please, let's all be nice to each other, and remember the "special" moments of our lives. Whether with a bunch of friends or just with one special person. I know I will. You never know if you'll get that chance again, make the most of everthing. In these times, we all don't know when we might get another chance. Maybe because of the events of 2001, my perspective has changed abit but .... if it's a good thing, then we all are better for it. Anyway, I don't want to sound any more dorky than i have but to say 1 last thing ..... & that's .... I LOVE YOU LENAY --- THANKS FOR MAKING LAST NIGHT 1 OF THE MOST MEMORABLE TIMES OF MY LIFE ---- & HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE - LET'S MAKE 2002 THE BEST EVER !!!!!!
Love & Peace
Michael

Glad to hear that you were able to have a good New Year's Eve Mike. I hope you and your daughter can have many more together... Keep the memory tucked away in a safe place, because later in life it will put an even bigger smile on your face.

Mikey,

Cherish your memories with your daughter as long as you can! Your children are the most prescious things that you can have! I know- I lost a daughter several years ago and miss her every day!

I have finally found a place to live-in the presence of the Lord!!

Love your children.

Mikey, just like Frenchie I am a younger member and all I can say is, that was soooo adorable. I'm glad that night was so special for you, I know how it feels to ring in the new year with someone you love more than yourself. Anyway, Happy New Years buddy, and tell Helen I hope she gets better. Nothing worse than being sick around the holidays, hope she has a speedy recovery.

IT'S TIME TO PLAY THE GAME-AHHH!

Mikey...

You are one lucky SOB. Sounds like you had a great New Year's Eve, dude. That's definitely one for the memory bank. Never let it go. These kind of moments are few and far between, but special and totally unforgetable. I envy you.

Hope Helen is feeling better.

Mikey, I missed Jeff's party as well, and had on ok time with my friends, but I think you probably had the most fulfilling night of us all.

Nothing more important than being a good dad and nothing worse than regretting those moments you might have missed.

And I don't know about brown eggs, or white eggs, but I do know you're a good egg.

My boy MikeyD,

I'm glad that you had a great time on New Years without the board mine was hell but this is not the thread to talk about it. Sorry to hear Helen was sick but that moment with lil Lenay has to be the greatest gift to have as a pop and I hope one day when I have children I hope I have precious moments like you. Lenay is definitely lucky to have a cool dad there and indeed to let stay up on New Years! Hope Helen is feeling much better the day after and keep reminding Lenay about that special moment so she can really understand the importance of being in a family.

Much love to the three of you and God bless you all in 2002!

Mikey, you are a lucky man, indeed. That's the sweetest thing I've read in quite some time, and you are truly blessed. Here's wishing you, Helen, and Lenay the happiest and healthiest 2002 possible. I love you guys.

The blessing is not in having this experience but recognizing it for what it is.
