I like to do things by myself. When I was single I would go out sometimes without a group. Not even to meet people, just alone. Those of you that have seen me at events know that I never show up with anyone. I just go alone. Tonight I'm going to a concert, alone. No one I know would want to go see what I'm seeing so I said "Fuck It I'll go by myself". Does anyone else do this? Whats something you've gone to do by yourself. I'm not seeing Celine Dion.

I have been to countless concerts (SRV, R.E.M., William Clarke, Johnny Winter, John Hammond, Van Halen, etc.) and movies alone, I'll drink alone, and as discussed in an earlier thread, I'll on occasion eat out alone. It's just more convenient that way sometimes.

I am single and live alone so I do countless things alone, including going to eat at a restaurant.
I prefer to be by myself. Ever since my Dad died I had to live with my Uncle Tommy. He touches my no spot. My Mom says that I'm her favorite, but she always is in her bedroom with her "Boy Friend". They make a lot of noise in there. It's just better when I'm alone.
I also like when I'm staying a Lenny's house with him and Annie. They act like I'm not even there. I saw Annie in her Bath robe once. She had bare feet too. And her hair was WET!
Lenny was at work. Nothing happened. We play cribbage sometimes too.

i was in atlanta for a conference a few summers ago & jim gaffigan was performing near by. none of my friends or co-workers wanted to go so i went by myself. i sat 7th row on the center aisle all by my lonesome & had the best time. i think that was the only time i've ever gone to a show on my own. i've never gone to the movies by myself, but was actually really tempted to do so tonight.
usually i like to shop alone. i don't mind going with friends, but i like to concentrate on whatever random thoughts are in my head while i'm wandering through the stores. oh & i don't mind eating alone either. even if it's in a diner or restaurant. a lot of times if i'm eating alone i like to read the paper or do whatever paperwork i have to get done.

I have a mental block when it comes to going to the movies or a restaurant alone. I just cant seem to do it. Though I do usually have sex alone. Weird.

I'm so used to being by myself I almost hate when others are around. Even when I am going out with others, I prefer to drive separately from everybody else as I hate not having control on when I can leave. And I definitely have no problems stopping at local bars for a couple of drinks by myself.
Most of my trips are little weekend excursions to Minneapolis for shows, and a good percentage of the time my friend who lives up there has to work at least one of the nights I'm in town. A perfect example was two weeks ago when I went up for the Vikings/Eagles game. I went up a day early knowing I wouldn't be able to hang out with Traci, so I befriended a bunch of Eagles fans and just hung out all night at the hotel bar with them.
The most memorable, though, had to be three or four years ago when I went up for two shows. Again, the first night I was alone at First Avenue for a Wrens show, and I guess I was charming enough to not only make some new friends but ended up hanging out with the band for awhile.
As for my solo business trip to Vegas a few years ago, I prefer to keep those escapades a secret.
A lot of the time I have sex alone.

I go to concerts alone all the time...mostly cuz none of my friends are into black metal or death metal.
I like drinking alone in my basement infront of the tv...not a fan of loud crowded bars.

am I the only one who was hoping this story would make itself into the sauna at the hotel?

I love being alone..doing what I want to. Family affairs suck, I always have to be on the schedule of someone else..If I am hungry, I eat, If I am tired, I sleep. All I want is to be left alone....

Nice, Unibomber.
Sorry if I like to be able to watch what I want, how I want. Same goes for shitting, eating, showering, and sleeping.
Ie: Sunday football..I love watching Sunday Football..in my sweats with holes all over, unshowered, drinking beer all day, eating crappy food and farting.
All that goes out the window if I have family or people over: I have to shower, get dressed, watch how much I drink, not fart, hear people talking all the time, and eat modestly. No fucking way!

Me either, plus, I liked how he tried to think of what would happen overall if the world turned to water. That alone was worth the price of admission.
The value of dirt, a lime tree, recycling urine... all things I'd normally take for granted.
Maybe the hokey storyline replete with heroes, villians, object of affection and whatnot.
But pretty good overall and I'd watch it again.
