I am with Dave. I like when teams come out of nowhere and make the SB. Of course, I am a Falcons fan, so...

But the NFL does it right. I hate the "no tradition" argument. Every team deserves a shot.

Most of the dem side? How about you comment on what was said by the people who are actually questioning what you said, such as MojoPin.

This has nothing to do with Mojopin thinking your statement is absurd because it's true.
What? You think that anyone thinks that no one will have any bills to pay after Obama?I am listening to everyone elses statements about him winning, people think hes going to automatically come in and fix all their financial problems. I have heard people make the comment out in social situations about how they cant wait for him to get in to fix their credit issues, I could stand there and wonder how they actually got out in public being that retarded.

And most republicans would fall back on the "That's UNAMERICAN!" post 9/11 when questioned about anything
I hated those people, I hated that all the rednecks took the toby keith song, I hated the fact that if you dared spoke up got shouted down by everyone with that mentality. I got into arguments about relatives talking about how they need to take out the iraqis now, I never agreed with going in there and when all the other nations backed out I definitely had a problem with going in there. Whats amazing is even now those people refuse to admit it was a bad idea.

"Lunacy."

"Idiocy."

"All the Democrats."

So, so angry. It's OK. Relax. All of that stress isn't good for you.
Im fine, very little anger here, now some of the extended family up in the mountains arent happy, but then again they are hicks and see maybe one black guy a year.

Those people were not the ones questioning your comment. Mojopin and I were. It's ridiculous to attribute those people's comments/beliefs to us unless you see us make them.
Which comment? The colin powell one? I really dont think any of you would be celebrating like this if he was the first black president, its all about who made the most outlandish promises for the poor.

Come now. Put urself in our shoes. What would u think if a president was given the election (on bs "state's issue" rationale) by judges appointed by that candidates father (while he was vp/pres; who go duck hunting with cheney) because of sketchy voting practices in the state whose governor is the brother of that candidate?

Is it REALLY paranoia? REALLY?
Im sorry the judges had nothing to do with it, to hand pick which areas to recount is just stupid, of course if I was running I would only want areas recounted that would help me as well. Either way I really wouldnt have wanted neither of the idiots running in 2000 or 2004, they have all sucked and if they hadnt fucked mccain in 2000 he would have made a great president 8 years ago. His pandering to the religious right the past year really made me hate him, I am really a voter without a party anymore, neither one represents the people as far as Im concerned.

That depresses me more than anything else.

The way people post here is very close to the same as what other people post, all blame bush when in reality hes maybe 20% blame and really probably about 8-10% to blame for the economy. He fucked up by invading iraq, thats his main problem that is 100% on him, thats it.

And the powell comment wasnt absurd, when he was thinking about running I would bet none of you supported him slightest even though everyone knows he would have made a better president than bush or gorey. No one on the democratic ticket would be championing powell as the first black president if he were to run in 2000, they would have drug up dirt on him and it would have been ok because of who they have in their pocket. If people cant see that then you should try stepping outside your little bubble sometime.

I had zero election analysis, I hated mccains move to the middle and I still think obama doesnt have enough experience and thats evidenced by his appointing the same dead weight to the cabinets. I didnt like either one in their present form so I didnt vote for either one, time will tell if obama is decent, Im not holding my breath, his cabinet people appear useless.

"Stepping outside of the bubble" = "completely making shit up."

You're tossing out hypotheticals as absolutes. It doesn't work that way. Something like that doesn't become true or provable simply because you declare it enough times.

Regardless of whether this is true or not, these points have nothing to do with whether people would have acted in the same way if Powell was elected. It's like supporting an argument about the sky being blue by pointing out the grass is green.

And the powell comment wasnt absurd, when he was thinking about running I would bet none of you supported him slightest even though everyone knows he would have made a better president than bush or gorey. "I bet none of you supported him ..." No one on the democratic ticket championing powell .." These aren't facts supporting your position -- they are guesses on your part based on nothing but your skewed analysis. Powell never ran for President. He actually refused for a number of reasons. You can't support a statement by speculating about what would have happened in some scenario. It didn't happen so that means crap.

Your election analysis was about what would happen during the election, very little of it which occurred. You said several states "would never" vote for Obama, and, guess what, they did. You said several times that Obama was going to lose due to certain dirt on him. It didn't happen.

The point here is that your idea of how things are really has no basis. You have no facts to support your statements, and when it comes to your "gut" or whatever, you're off.

And by the way, although you stated that you were not a McCain supporter, all I saw was you complaining about Obama. It's a tactic others have used. They try to support their bias against one candidate by saying they are neutral -- they don't like/support either candidate, yet all they do is bitch about one of the candidates.

As someone who works for the president (i.e., in the executive branch of the government), I find these arguments regarding our two primary parties to be comical. As a co-worker from Greece once explained to me... when they have an election it matters (e.g., dictatorship versus democracy)... In the U.S., there is no more than a dimes difference between our candidates in any given year... independent of who is elected... the economy will continue its cycle... wars will exist (our participation will vary)... and the timing of these things will dictate our next president... I am proud of America for the last election and I wish Obama all the wisdom and luck I would any of my leaders... we need Obama to ride this Nation's next great upturn... (pontification overload… God bless Americal)

As someone who works for the president (i.e., in the executive branch of the government), I find these arguments regarding our two primary parties to be comical. As a co-worker from Greece once explained to me... when they have an election it matters (e.g., dictatorship versus democracy)... In the U.S., there is no more than a dimes difference between our candidates in any given year... independent of who is elected... the economy will continue its cycle... wars will exist (our participation will vary)... and the timing of these things will dictate our next president... so what you're saying is "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss?"

:) they will agree whole-heartedly with everything you type :)

Whats ironic is that is everyone's response to my criticisms, fact is, I never listen to rush, cant stand him or oreilly either for that matter, I am far from the right but most people are so far left they cant even see the middle any longer. In fact most people I know on both sides accuse me of riding the fence, it must mean both sides have a problem with my thought process.

I am rational, I will give obama a chance but with who is in office with him I dont see it happening, they are all childish imbeciles who think that if you dont agree with them then you are not fit to listen to and your opinion is complete shit. That will not work in modern politics and is only going to further divide the country, if this continues the way it did today then it will be ugly in a few years.

You spent this whole damn thread attacking strawman after strawman, basically completely lying about Obama supporters, and now you're complaining about negative politics.

Wow. Just wow.

Yes. We do. Your thought process is faulty and full of holes. The problem that people here have with you politically isn't with your political leanings, but rather with the type of positions and statements you make. They are irrational with no underlying logic or support. You make statements about one thing and then when someone calls you on it, you support it with stuff that is unrelated or that doesn't support your point. Seriously.

For some reason, you think you are this fount of unbiased and accurate points. But you often make absolute sentences with little room for you being wrong rather than making statements that indicate that you have a belief but you understand there is a possibility you may be wrong. For instance, rather than saying that Virigina will never vote for Obama or 99% of Obama supporters would never support Powell, state that Virginia is unlikely to vote for Obama or that some or a portion of Obama supporters would not support Powell.

Your thought process and argument style is the major problem people have with you. Go back and take a look at the criticism above. None of it is about the fact that you are criticizing Obama or the democrats. It's how you did it and the absurdity of your statements/logic.

BTW, most people are right in the middle. You want to see people who are far left they can't see the middle? Go to a country with an active socialist/communist/anarchist party. It's as sckirdell said, compared to the rest of the world, there is very little difference between both parties in the US. In fact, compared to other countries, our political spectrum is very narrow and pretty moderate.

And one more BTW, you're the only poster here I know who is constantly talking about how people around him "in the real world" think about him as support against any statements about how you act on this board. If everyone here responds completely different to you compared to real life, maybe the way you act here is completely different from how you act with those people. People are going to judge you based upon how you act in front of them, not on how you say other people judge you.

Please. Giving someone a chance means that you don't lambast him or his cabinet or his followers on the first day the man becomes president. Attack them when they actually make a move, or take an action that you disagree with.
