My theory is that the whole thing is a scam - and Cheney remained the Evil Dark Underlord right to the end, using this "back injury" and wheelchair as an excuse - refusing to stand for the swearing in ceremony.

I thought it was just for attention. Kinda a way to take some of the spotlight? I mean, who would've looked at him twice without the wheelchair? He never used a wheelchair after any of his 47 heart surgeries...

Just in tonight. Dick Cheney last week had a LVAD ( Left Ventricular Assist Device ) placed in his chest last week.This is attached to his heart , & either assists or fully pumps blood through his body .It is powered by a battey he will ( eventually) wear on his belt, and he will have it until he dies , gets a heart transplant, or his heart function improves. The side effect of an LVAD (because it pumps blood smoothly) ?...

He now has no PULSE !!!!!
