How many times have you done this...

Written out what seemed at first to be a well formed opinion or a whitty retort and then just had to delete it nano seconds before you would have posted it because it was just too lame, dumb, or whatever. At least two times tonight for me. Does this happen to you often?

I had three replies before this one

A lot of times I'll have something typed out and then hover over the submit button only to close out of the browser or click on another site. Then there are the times I type out a big, long response and reach for the mouse only to hit some button combination that puts me two pages over with everything I've typed being lost.

i often find myself writing out responses that i either deem to unfunny, to mean, or nonsensical.

i thought it might be amusing for those post you type out and decide not to post to throw them in here. i'm probably wrong but we'll see.

Wow, maybe like a post... what's the word... purgatory? Or somethign like that?

Yeah, I do quite a bit. Sometimes people take what I say the wrong way and I've been trying to be more mindful of how I come across. I forget at times that the written word does not translate as well as the spoken one, and without inflection good natured ball busting can seem arrogant and nasty.

More often than not, though, I just say fuck it and hit "Submit Reply."

There are plenty of members out there who should try it more often.

But that's why Marc invented post purgatory, just for that reason..

I've done it but not very often..
I usually just throw it out there and if it's an ignorant statement, filled with supidity or worse, unfunny, I'll just roll the dice and hope the people I like don't read it and move on to the next awful post..It get's fairly easy after awhile..

Yeah, but have you ever typed out a response to a thread and then find out that someone has already had that response? how many times do you have to go back and get rid of your whole post?

I always reply, then think...ahh man why did I say that? Which is how I got my MOD quote.

More often then not I just leave it and justify it by saying, if they dont think its funny or think i'm being an asshole, then fuck'em.

Maybe I should think before I post.

or just stop posting.

I'll start to type out my opinion and then I think to myself one of these two things...

"Why am I trying to get have a political discussion on a messageboard?"

and

"I really don't care"

Then click delete.

I'll wince when I hit the submit button sometimes but I usually put it up. Most of the time I don't it's because I catch myself trying to sound cool.

My old mod quotes keep me off that Norton wavelength when posting now though. There'll be no fucking of faces next to my board name anymore.

I usually delete some mean comments which I know will offend someone, after the past rage wears down

obviously, I dont edit or delete the unfunny posts

I have had many occasions when I will write up what I feel is a brilliant post, and accidentally hit the back button or somehow delete what I was writing and get really upset with myself.
