To all you doubting-ass bitches who will die under Jivin's misguided leadership in the post-apocalyptic world, the new podcast is now available through the RSS feed (iTunes for most) or the website http://www.ctandjivin.com

What's this one about?

CT & Jivin discuss 2008 in music, highlighting our favorite albums and tracks - 24 songs in total and over 3 hours in length.

WARNING: The file is fuckin huge.

It's a 3 hour music show, so we didn't want to compress it any farther than 128K stereo bitrate. It's about 170 megabytes, so expect it to take some time to download.

Enjoy,

CT

I had to listen to it eventually, even though the music gap is 20 years between middle aged Ct and Jivin and a 51 yr guy. Most of the hits and MTV songs I ghostwrote were in early 1987,when they were in early grade school. A year-end wrap-up show like that is a good premise. The talk time would have been about another hour show, but if you are passionate about music (I was too at their age) then it's a good way to feel part of the mass media/gatekeepers.So it put me thru a time(this podcast) when I was cut off from the net on a snowy night. Your reward is a Papa Smurf looking Dragon from Spirit rover. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a65/j3lehane/thNasaForgetsNegative2N247012372EFF.jpg :clap::lol: Look in the solid yellow lines and the nose is the size and shape of a dixie cup.The head is over 1 foot high,so small beach ball sized.

I'm two hours into the show so far, some good stuff there. Is there any way to get a list and/or an iMix of all the songs? I know I want to check out some more from some of these artists, but since I listen while commuting, I don't remember all of them by the time I get home.

I got "The item you've requested is currently not available in the Canadian store"

Thank-you illigal downloads. Obviously Canada must get a different type of song when they add it to the Canadian internet...idiots. Canada always gets fucked past not only the first, but second sphincter and on into the abyss til shit works its way though our intestines, up our throat, and out our mouths all over everything til it gets yanked out and we all just lay around in lawn chairs bleeding out our ass's until we die.

Thanks for the show to eh. and for throwing down an extensive list of songs played. You guys can't live off the multitude of the music show forever. yes we had an XM show but we need a podcast. The music show still holds up but...I NEED MORE!!!!!!!!!!! dammit.

Love Trevor

P.S. ...I'm finally venturing into the Rickcast world here tommorow or monday...Damn you CT & JIVIN.

Don"t forget Chadcast #1, I'm almost over this evil cold that has been plaguing me so #2 should be on the way soon, assuming I get some time, they fired the rest of my maintenance department, with no intention to rehire, so I am a little busy at the moment.

a few things...

thanks for the feedback on the music show. we know it's not what you normally expect out of a regular ct & jivin show but we've had a lot of good feedback from here and elsewhere. maybe more of the same to come? maybe.

i know we said there would be a new podcast this weekend but that didn't happen. life man...life. the last xm show should be up for download shortly in case you missed it. the light at the end of the tunnel is that we are def doing a new show next weekend.

to prove that we haven't just been standing around fingering our own asses:
there was a meeting with "a person" about the show and it's future on a certain space based system of broadcasting. it went...as expected.

lastly, i'm angry at canada. i give and give and give...and what do i get? NICKLEBACK! Not ONCE did any of you oily, pot smoking canucks tell me about Protest the Hero. Their last album Fortress might be the best album i've heard in years.
couple of tracks:

I'll probably get in trouble for even talking about this, but the truth of the matter is that Canada has quite a few excellent bands including Protest the Hero, and the reason you haven't heard about them, is because we don't want to share them with ignorant Americans.

Nickelback can be compared to the shit China exports to the rest of the world, we never use it (or listen to it) and think it's hilarious that the rest of the world buys it up.

I love the show...

...but...

...both of your tastes in music are mostly shit. I mean, do you guys like ANY male fronted bands with lead singers who have ANY bass in their voices? Most of the songs I heard on the 1/26 show were whiny bitch rock bands that I'd hear on corporate rock stations these days. Stuff like White Stripes and the like. Whiny art, indie bullshit. Pussy rock, if you will. Pansy alt-rock like Avenged Sevenfold is what I'm getting at. If that's what you like - that's cool. More power to ya both.

Other than that, keep up the great work and keep your noses clean. I'm a huge fan of the show.:drunk:

Pity, that.

If people like that kind of shitty music then fine, that's good on them. Personally, I think stuff like The White Stripes, Nickleback, and Avenged Sevenfold are horrific. Protest The Hero sounds like every other band out there. My tastes are different, that's all :)

Dude I agree with you that those are great bands from the heyday of my youth. And because of that I have a hard time finding new music that I think fits in that genre. But some of the list was pretty decent.

Definitely. They're a great band and they're even better live. It's so nice to see a band consistently put out solid records.

I'm looking forward to the reissue of Pearl Jam's Ten next month. I've had a worn copy of their full MTV Unplugged performance on VHS since the mid 1990s so it'll be nice to have a higher quality recording for my collection.

Anyone else in the New York notice that, right after this podcast went up, WRXP put "Kids" by MGMT into pretty heavy rotation?

Sorry, Jivin, but if it wasn't for O&A my radio probably would never leave that station. It's like iPod with commercials.

Company of Thieves. Good shit. The lead singer is a broad and she has an AMAZING voice. I didn't expect such a powerful and soulful voice to come out of such a petite woman.

I think the song I liked most is called We're Our Own Devil...I can't remember the song...ugh.
