Hey all,
Just thought I would post another one of my fool proof recipes here for ya.
It's a Ground Turkey Meat Sauce with Whole Wheat Penne Pasta.
1 lb Lean Ground Turkey
1 28 oz(1lb) Jar of Roasted Garlic Marinara(Use whatever you like...I get this from Trader Joe's)
1 zucchini (Sliced)
2-3 mushrooms(Baby Bella or Portobello caps) (Sliced)
1/2 lb of Whole Wheat Penne Pasta
Fresh Thyme(about a palmful)
Fresh Cracked Pepper
3-5 tsps of your Favorite Hot Sauce(For the angry version):furious:
Boil some salted water in a saucepan or pasta cooker. At a rolling boil, throw in the Pasta and cook to your liking.
In a large skillet heat a couple tbsps of Olive Oil. Crack pepper on the turkey liberally. Brown the turkey and throw in the (hot sauce), Tomato Sauce, thyme, zucchini and mushrooms. I usually end up adding about a cup of water just to get the rest of the sauce out of the jar. Let it simmer for about 10-15 mins until the Tomato sauce reduces a little and add the drained, cooked pasta to the skillet.
Incorporate the pasta so that its covered in the sauce.
Add some fresh basil as garnish and of course some fresh grated Parmagiano cheese.
I usually make this twice a month.
Enough for a family of 4 or good to take to work for a couple of days.
Buon Appetito!
