I was thinking that O&A have so many bits that they mention, saying "we are going to do this tomorrow" and then they never ever do it that i wanted to keep track of these bits just to see how many they actually are

I think the purpose of this thread should be one of recently mentioned bits that we keep track of in this thread, rather than going down memory lane of bits they started months ago and never finished (like i think the Foundry cover song segment is too old). Perhaps keep this to 2009 bits?

Raisin Bran morning - a day where the boys were all going to eat raisin bran and fart all morning. so the entire morning they will be all farty. Promoted for a few days, rescheduled, promoted some more..never happend

Opie's Art- Opie complained about getting a horrible piece of art for his wedding. He was going to bring in the art and maybe destroy it, maybe just hang it in the studio, at the very least he was going to post pictures of it online. He promoted it for about a week and just never came through

Will I eat that? - after telling a tale of his wife watching him eat his boogers, Opie said that the next day he will have the staff blow their snot into a tissue and then Opie will eat that booger or not eat that booger if it came out of his own nose. The following day came and they never did that bit

Maybe they realized that all those "bits" sucked. I do wish that Anthony followed through with his reality show idea to set up cameras throughout his mansion and have some of his harem live there.

If I wanted to see a bunch of chicks like the ones Anthony digs I'd go find a crack house.

The Foundry bit didn't suck, it was great. They just dropped it. Fuck them.

The companies won't let them do any of the really big time stuff so they're not even trying with any of the little bits like that one.

The show blows, but at least they do speak to each other.

whether the bits sucked or not, as a loyal listener i do get my interest up. even if its a piss-poor payoff, its gotta be better than another obama rant. its material that is waiting to be done and i'd rather hear it than another story about getting out of a traffic ticket or "the new gun i bought is quite powerful". If you are going to do radio filler, at least do filler that ties up loose ends

True. So very true. Anthony sounded like one of those Paul R. Nelson ads today when he was whining that Obama's stimulus package was going to "chlamydia infected whores."

I know the boys like to blame the lawyers. But, it is management's decision to follow the legal advice. The lawyers will always say something presents a risk, everything does. Management needs to step and decide that some things are worth the risk.

I am sure everyone rue's the day Ron started to get us thinking about bit's and weather they pay off or not.

Frankly, I never thought about it until he started to call Fez and Earl on it.

I don't think the "Opie Money Rain" thing is going anywhere.

But it is resulting in some good Ron and Fez vids.

ive always, as a listener, felt disappointed cuz they mention a lot of good bits and they never do them these days. I remember once they had an idea of going to a bookstore like Borders with the staff and whoever buys the hottest piece of sexual material in a legitimate bookstore won the contest. Thats funny. It never happened

Opie seems like a creative person who comes up with things on the fly, maybe the show needs a producer to just write these things down and bring it up to him or encourage them to do these bits, because there is a lot of radio filler that they could be getting stuff done

What about the stripper pole thats sitting there collecting dust? Besides Fezzies memorable performance what happened to that? They don't only need women on it, a stripper pole can add comedy to a lot of situations.

Today the also mentioned doing a Top 10 favorite clips bit..that would be great!

I think a show like Opie and Anthony enjoy taunting the fans and not coming through on bits. That's their modus operandi since day 1. Fuck with the fans. Sometimes its frustrating, but sometime you have to accept it as "their thing".

Well Opie DEFINITELY gets off on it. I mean look at the picture he took of the art work he keeps mentioning:

I wish people wouldn't try to adopt the same kind of logic the show uses. The cop out "the lawyers wouldn't let us" became a catch all for everything somewhere along the way.

Then we as fans adopt the same premise and apply it to everything as a way to justify it all to ourselves. I mean these are the ones who came up with that whole "Howard is a hack who couldn't adapt" and "Howard has no more passion"

So with all that said when a lawyer says no...

Adapt or shut the fuck up.

he said there might be a prize for the best one. I realized that that is bullshit Opie says to get submissions. Because he mentioned the last remix contest with Bob Kelly as being huge, they never had a prize or winner for that one either. Or Pat O'brien.

I just moved into my house in Japan and finally got internet this afternoon. So I've been removed from the entire 202 world for about 3 weeks, and I go to oandaradio.com and they're still teasing that painting. I can't see any way this payoff is worth the wait. BTW what have they done since Jan 15th that diverted them from the painting story arc?

when i started this thread that bit seemed to be "bit graveyard", but since Opie started his twitter account the other week hes slowly been teasing the painting again.

I saw that, but here we are almost a month later and the painting hasn't been fully revealed. Who is sticking around for such a delayed payoff?

I think the Foundry bit was paid off simply because that one day they played the submissions was awesome. Unfortunately, they don't seem to give a fuck about that stuff and forgot it pretty fast. They also thought the shitty Godsmack imitations were the greatest ones which kind of indicates that they were taking the contest more seriously than the original song deserved and thus were out of touch with that portion of the audience which viewed the contest more as a humorous thing.

This falls into the fact that O&A don't like to use their audience as much as they used to. Whether that's for legal reasons or whatever, I wouldn't know. Audience participation is way more limited (no walkovers, no bleachers, less Big A/PatfromMoon). I guess they wanted to move on from that stuff.

Stop doing the show for fuckin 25 people on a screen!

Ok I'm not a big fan of paltalk or anything, but what's your logic? Got any proof? The SuperBall was a bit that was paid off and they had PalTalk back then. Lots of show characters from the audience came from Paltalk (correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Big A a paltalker?). I don't think Paltalk is why audience participation or bit fulfillments has decreased.

Besides if Paltalk was such a show killer, how come it doesn't kill Ron and Fez's audience participation?

GreatAmericanZero

people blame everything on paltalk. its funny to me

i would say, a legitimate complaint about paltalk in 2009 is just the fact that, throughout the history of paltalk, anyone with any opinion besides "Anthony Yes Man" has been weeded out to the point that Anthony has a room filled with "Yes Men" who encourage bad radio on his part. Feeds into his ego too much and he no longer has objective opinions

but i do think that 9 out of 10 things people blame paltalk on is just silliness
