He's a pinko, but I love him. He had a hand in the labor struggles, civil rights movement, vietnam protests, and the environmental movement. He just became the oldest person to perform at an presidential inauguration (he sang 'this land is your land' and included the lyrics most people leave out)

He's also a really nice guy. i've met him a few times at the clearwater festival (clearwater is his enviromental group dedicated to educating children on the environment and cleaning up the Hudson). Such a pleasant man. A real mensch

He will be 90 in may and has been fighting for the common man for 70 years. Give him the fucking medal!!

Also, i learned to play clawhammer guitar by watching him play clawhammer banjo.

Let me rephrase: It's an article I wrote and I need buddays to help me out by reading my shit and building traffic so I don't have to live in squallor anymore.

His influence goes much further than people realize. He inspired an entire generation to stand up for what they believe in. He provided the soundtrack to the civil rights movement.

look out at the hudson river. it used to be an open sewer. Now, thanks to clearwater, there are actual fish in it. FISH!

Guthrie was seeger's mentor, and they were in the Almanac Singers together. Guthrie is another hero of mine, though from what i've heard, he was a real asshole.

no, in fact he was a notorious teetoddler. Once, during his time with the Weavers, someone put booze in his drink, thinking that he was doing him a faovr. He became so upset that he smashed his banjo on a table.

Can I nominate you for the Nobel Peace Prize for saying teetoddler?

And, do you think he'll actually get it?

I think that he will at least be nominated. And then given his age, he might have an inside track.

I know that I will be doing everything I can to help

Old Time Rock and Roll really is a good song.

It's up there with anything from the Beatles, or Jimmy Eat World really.

The two bands that invented rock and roll.

Anybody that would give his son the name "Arlo" would be.

And then Arlo went and named his daughter after a delicious brand of cake
