Where's the fucking show?

Seriously, what can a dump guy and an unemployed guy possibly be doing?

This slacking isn't going to get your show on air.

That will speed things up in your world for Podcasting quality sound. I will listen to your show once you get it and see if I want one too.Right now I use a headphone set that is OK for paltalk that would be passable for podcasts, better than many paltalkers, anyway, since most people talk loud when testing then drone downhill talking weaker with every minute, never watching peak levels.Or else they eat the mic and sound like ass.Better mics give much nicer headroom for acceptable levels. http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a45/JLehane/MarscropRovPipercrgr2.jpg Don't be THAT GUY (with a thimble sized head on Mars). http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a45/JLehane/MarscropPiper5.jpg

be careful not to get too good a mic. i had to stop using my high end mic because it was picking up too much background noise, ie, ceiling fan, radiator, traffic.

You couldn't tune it out with a noise gate? I know mine does the same thing, but if I play with my noise gate on my mixer I can usually eliminate it.

ha! great reference justjon.

but seriously. i miss when i could rely on ct and jivin popping up anywhere from sunday to tuesday and i'd stay up all night playing mass effect or fire pro wrestling, and listen to them.

now. i go the site..nothin...
i check the board...nothin...

and sure i have plenty of shows to listen to listen to.
o&a,ron and fez, way too hip (which has grown on me) mayhem radio, but ct and jivin has always been the one i look foward to cuz it's once a week.

ha! great reference justjon.

Like 2 months ago, it came up on the show. It's because I saw them at one of the parties in NYC and brought it up while talking to them.

It was probably the same night they did a live show and came out afterwards. I happened to see them getting beers at the bar soon after they came in, walked up behind them and screamed at the top of my lungs "OH MY GOD! IT'S INTERNATIONAL RADIO SUPERSTARS CT AND JIVIN!" :devil2:

Canuck, you assume that i know how to work the equipment. i have only been doing the show for two years. How would I know?

Canuck, you assume that i know how to work the equipment. i have only been doing the show for two years. How would I know? If you have traffic or baby screams, sudden burst sounds,a noise gate is so needed to supress or minimize them.It just depends on how open or closed you want to gate the sound. If you do it wrong it could chop part of your speech, raising the cut-off levels too high. A few mins practice are all it takes to get the feel for your optimal gate levels so you knock out the background.I used to purposely use a high rejection cheapo $2 mic in the car to bury the driving noises. A pop filter can be achieved with a nice medium thickness sock or extra thickness insulated heavy duty winter sock. There's a low tech solution,SOCK over the MIC. King of Lo-Fi recording.:tongue: http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a45/JLehane/PaulOicon4dd.jpg Paul O Gap Movie

I can't believe I am saying this, but I agree with Jerry 100%, he nailed it bang on.

Canuck, you assume that i know how to work the equipment. i have only been doing the show for two years. How would I know? I actually have little to no clue what I am doing with most of my stuff either, the nice thing about being a guitar player is that you get to play with a lot of different effects and get a little better feel what each thing does. I also played in a few bands so I've picked up a few things here and there. That and my crash and burn experience on ProTools, Cubase and Propellerhead's Reason/Rewire/Recycle (gotta love that pirate bay) have gotten me a long way towards understanding most of this stuff, but it has all been trial and error, the ratio of shit to good, is well in favor of the shit side.
