I'd keep it, not many people have passable counterfeit..

Its easy to accept counterfit money, you get a few bills, its in the middle...you never ever actually touch it...I doubt most people check before pocketing.

Spend it at some kind of retail place that make a lot of change. That way it will be much less likely to wind up at the bank, where it will be found out as counterfeit and the depositor is out 10 bucks. If you can keep it circulating the symbolism of the money still works, you earned it somehow and are exchanging it for a service.

i used to work at a bank. if you handle a lot of money, you'll be able to pick out a fake easier by the way it feels than the way it looks.

Take the loss. When I owned a business we were actually paid with a fake $5 and the bank gave it back for some reason. It was stolen when we got robbed so a crook ended up with the bill. Wow, that was some useless information.
