I watched the Alexandra Pelosi documentary on Ted Haggard and started to feel sorry for the guy. Don't get me wrong I'm no fan but the documentary really humanized him. Am I being duped like all the people in his church were before? I really can't tell if he genuinely contrite or just playing for sympathy. Is his own backwards morality torturing him or is it just an act? Either way it was kind of interesting with the irony of his life become like a story out of the bible.

I saw that documentary and felt sorry for the guy too. yes, the guy is a liar and manipulator but he is a gay guy raised in a religious family. I can think of several examples of how growing up gay in a Southern Christian family or maybe Italian Catholic family can lead to serious personality disorders.

Its weird how quite a few religious people end up gay, my sister was staunchly religious and used to listen to bible verses and sermons on trips in her car(hated it, but I needed a ride) now in her adult life, after getting married mind you she has now swung to the other side.
