Obama President Nyahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

You can't touch any black people that were involved with getting Imus fired. You need to know this. You know damn well Jim Norton was prob told not to talk about it tomorrow, or asked not to be in-studio.

Suits can nix the replay, but it will remain out there on torrent sites. Suits are such pussies.

Vile racist talk? It was sarcasm. The whole underlying reason that Jimmy called in was because Al Roker and his ties to the NAACP, and how Al Roker was being "supported throughout his mistaken slip of the tongue about epilepsy", yet fangs were all out and ready to rip on Imus. I was playing on that.

I wouldn't step in that scumbag thread anyhow. Obama racism talk is what brought that show to it's current close to shit level anyhow.

That, and the whole thing seemed like a trap after you look at it, regardless of whether Ron knew that Jimmy was gonna ask that question. The post show from monday revealed they did in fact know Jimmy was calling in while Roker was on.

I think there's a difference in being genuine and carrying a grudge for 2 years over someone else's firing. I'm a huge Jim Norton fan and I still enjoy listening to O&A, but it was hard to listen to that because it was so off-track and it was Jimmy trying to hijack the boring interview with no context.

I did enjoy hearing Al get all pissed and hang up, though.

Sure there was no context, but thats what the show wanted to happen. I bet if roker answered jim this would have been a great interview and ron would have really directed it to make it interesting. Who wants to hear about a remake of cops?

And Jimmy kept insisting that Al Roker was 'instrumental' in Imus getting fired. As if the suits at nbc consult with the weatherman of the news program before they make any decisions.

I wonder how Jim likes being on the phone call end of one of these arguments for once ? Not being able to shout over the other persons comments.

Sure Al was a dope but Jim wasn't much better.

I would bet that Norton was driving around somewhere and someone got the message to him that Ron was interviewing Al Roker. He wasn't listening to the show so he had no idea what the context was but he called in and asked his question.

The way Roker reacted when he heard that the caller was Jim Norton (trying to be humorous) it seems obvious that he knew the the O&A show had trashed him about the Imus firing. From Roker's point of view it sure must have looked like a setup.

Why doesn't Al Roker have to answer for his hypocrisy and why on EARTH would Sirius/XM not replay a show because AL ROKER got upset?! WHO IS AL ROKER?! That's absolutely absurd. They had an interesting/real moment, where one celebrity confronted another regarding a volatile issue and instead of running with it and saying THIS is what satellite radio is all about, they DON'T REPLAY THE SHOW. UNBELIEVABLE.

I'm so incredibly disappointed in Sirius/XM.

I agree it ended the way it should have and I'm not saying it was a bad thing but that seems like a text book example of an ambush to me.

"Ok Al Roker is going to call in to discuss his new tv show, we'll make hime feel comfortable for a few minutes and then we'll put phone caller Jimmy on to blindside him about the epilepsy comment/Imus firing"

Isn't that an ambush ?

In studio it might have been considered an ambush. But, when you can just hang up, I don't think it is honest to call it an ambush.
Jimmy is right to be upset with Al. Al should understand that corporations can have knee jerk reactions that have lasting effects on a person's career. O&A and Jimmy have to worry everyday that something they say will spark a controversy which will get them fired again. Jimmy just thinks a broadcaster should understand the need to stick together.
If Imus was a new DJ the firing could have ended his career. That is a responsibility that Al should stay away from.

Al said the Cartoon Network executive did the right thing after his mistake, by quitting. It was a single mistake. So Al trying to say his one mistake is different from Imus's continued insults loses credibility.
I think Imus is incredibly unfunny and that should be the reason he is fired.

I dont consider it much of an ambush, roker used his status to try and get imus canned then acted like it wasnt a big deal when he offended epileptics, personally imus was correct and roker was showing real prejudice of different people.

Fuck roker and his fat flab.

True enough, I meant the original airing. The audible file absolutely did have the Al Roker interview and Jimmy's run in. From what I've gathered from all the other threads there was nothing cut out. Maybe they changed the file later.

I don't know why anyone blames Jimmy for what happened. As soon as Fez mentioned he had Al Roker coming the next day, Ron immediately said he was going to have Jim Norton on as well. It's not like Jim was listening to R&F and decided to call, the show had him in on it the entire time. I'm sure it was all completely planned out by all parties aside from fat roker.

Sorry to make my first post a dig at the show, but this whole Al Roker ambush thing was a real punk move for Ron and Fez, and Jim Norton--something way beneath them. I felt like I was listening to some bad AM shock jock radio all out of nowhere. There was nothing funny about it, and not that I give two fucks about Al Roker, but it was completely unfair, unfounded, and undeserved. I mean, of all people to take down a peg--Al fucking Roker?! What the fuck is that? Because he wrote something on his personal blog? Ron should have known better. This was unfunny, and worse, it was unbecoming of the show as a whole. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

They replayed the entire show on sat at 2:00 including the Jimmy / Al part. Also I was listening to a Howie replay saturday and Al was in studio. Howie didn't have the balls to ask about Imus but he did mention that one of the shows Al produces is Celeb Family Feud. A show that had Dog The Bounty Hunter and his family on. When asked about that, Al stated "everyone deserves a second chance" and the topic was dropped. What a f***ing hypocrite.
