Jim Ross posted the following in his blog:

""Macho Madness: The Randy Savage Ultimate Collection" will be released by the WWE on June 9 and as of today the match selection process was still on going. Obviously, some of Savage's bouts are no brainers to include on this upcoming DVD including Savage vs. Steamboat from WM3 but there is so much excellent content to pick from that making a final decision on this particular DVD won't be easy.

"Of course this will create the obligatory and predictable concerns as to why certain matches were not included. It's obviously a conspiracy of the Oliver Stone magnitude. BTW Macho Man would be a great candidate for the WWE Hall of Fame some day and I wonder why no one has ever suggested such in the past? I think Matt Striker may be penciled in to host the Savage DVD....dig it?!"

The HOF comment was sarcasm, as Ross is constantly fielding questions on why Savage has not been inducted.

So, aside from the "obvious" selection Ross named, what matches or other material would you like to see on this collection?

Would the WWE have access to his time in Memphis? If so that could provide an interesting context for fans.

I never saw much of WCW until their final couple years but did Savage do anything worthwhile there? I know he was part of the NWO but I never hear anyone talking about a memorable feud or match (aside from 6 man where Hogan turned heel) he had while there.

He held the title a few times pre-nwo and post. Also in 97 when the NWO was at it's peak (But getting stale) house show business was through the roof due to him and Flair tearing down the house nightly

Edit: The DDP feud was pretty memorable too

I seem to remember Savage having a good feud with Dallas Page in WCW that actually produced some really good matches.

Unlike the Warrior dvd, Savage isn't being buried. its not like him and Vince made up or anything, just a chance for them to make money. just business.

I met Mr Savage once in Florida. He wa doing a signing with Bubba the Love Sponge in Pinnelas Park. I stood in line at this bar for like 1/2 hour to get to him. Everyone was getting stuff signed and when I got to him he asked me what I wanted him to sign.

I said nothing Mr. Savage, I just wanted to shake your hand and thank you for the great matches you gave us. I honestly think he was taken back by the fact that I didn't want him to sign anything.

He shook my hand with a firmness that only a wrestler could give and I havn't washed that hand since.

but why have it hosted by Matt Striker and Maria?

Should've stuck Mean Gene in there.

Would have loved commentary by people past wrestlers. Did not need the Savage team up with Sherri against Dusty and Sapphari. The Savage vs Flair Match that was a Lumberjack math was great. I give it 4 stars out out of 5

I can't believe though that they didn't include the 1990 SummerSlam with Randy Savage and Zeus vs. Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior. Top 5 Greatest Tag match in WWE history.
