Milk and NYC Dating...

HordeKing, I always wondered about this question. How come I notice on the milk carton there is a general date of expiration while New York is always 2-3 days early? Does it have something to do with NY exactly or is it like that everywhere in the world?

Or does it have to do with the amount of pollution or something odd like that.

I think because the dairy farms are farther away from NYC than from any other area to which they deliver. Thus, they spend more time on the trucks. I'm just taking a wild guess. But then again it could be the white man trying to oppress the black man by forcing him to drink his milk faster.

The real reason is that life just moves a little faster here in NYC. The expiration dates are all adjusted to compensate.

Don't get me started about dairy products....

What would happen if it were a black cow then? Would the black cow be oppressed, a milk bearing slave to the man? Perhaps it is some sort of black cow prejudice. Maybe gets NYC gets its milk from black cows and have laws that keep black cow milk from being on the shelves too long.

The date on milk cartons is statutorily mandated. NY most probably has a different statute than other states.
