Where am I? The same place any underemployed freelancer should be on a Wedsnesday: Dave and Busters in Times Square with his nephews. This place is one gigantic kids casino. I'm surrounded with cups of paper tickets that have a street value of $.04, yet I've paid a cool 50 bucks for these little rugrats to run around and "win" them. Have you ever tried the old "I could buy you the prize you got with those tickets for 5 bucks" speech on a nine year old boy hopped up on loud music and flashing lights? They look back at you like you're a special kind of stupid, the kind who refuses to realize the futility of your beliefs.

There are easily twice as many casino games as there are actual action games. Toss in some bad chicken wings and some bad classic rock, and you have the perfect formula for a craptastic afternoon.

And for any of you tempted to answer that you'd rather be here than at work, you really wouldn't.

Don't let the Admins of this site see this thread. They think it's a casino for adults.

Arrested adolescents, I tell ya.

I went to a place in the wisconsin dells like that. Spent $60. Ended up with:

1. plastic snake
2. dice shaped erasers.
3. 2 bouncy balls
4. plastic slinky
5. plastic dinosaurs

D&B is the best. Of the three I've been to I've liked one in Jersey the best. Providence is okay and I didn't care for the Times Sq one (though I was alone and killing time).

There's no Dave and Busters in NJ. You may be thinking about the Palisades Mall which is in Nyack, NY.

On a related note, I brought my kids to Seaside, NJ on President's Day and watched them blow $40 trying to get an iTouch from a skill-crane. In a little over an hour I'd dropped over $80 and all we had to show was a stuffed pig and a bag of crappy toys worth about $3.50. Still, my kids said they had the best time. Fucking leeches!

Yes, that's it.

I don't know my way around.

There aren't nearly enough video games at Dave & Busters, I'd give them a pass if they at least had a better pinball alley.

The world just hasn't been the same since all the good arcades shut down.

Fun Spot (http://www.funspotnh.com/) in New Hampshire was the best when I was a kid. Largest arcade in the world.

Too noisy, too crowded, too expensive, the food stinks and the beer selection is wretched. It's like Chuck E. Cheese for adults, minus the robotic bad, which would actually be an improvement.

Dave and Buster's was the host of the absolute best "turning 21" birthday party ever.
Games are fun when you're drunk, period. The prizes and food are whatever. I love it.

WOW I had no idea anyone had been there besides me. We used to vacation at the lake every summer and now my parents live there full time. That's why you guys never see me anymore, the fled NJ.

I love that place but it's soooooo in need of a facelift. Whoever owns it doesn't give a shit about updating. I was just there at Christmas.

Love Weirs! Did you ever go into Meredith and eat at Franken Sundae? Or shop at the Shops at Mill Falls? My parents live right down the street now. It's weird.
