View Full Version : Who is the one player

That never played for your team, that you wish had played for your team..

I saw that Griffey Jr is going back to Seattle, and remember him in his prime. He is mine. He was the complete player in his prime of my generation.

Great swing, power, speed, Defense, and grace.

He had it all...

Who is that one player (that you seen play) for you..

Does not have to be just baseball.. It can be any sport..

I always wanted Jeremy Roenick and Keith Tkachuk to play for the Bruins. Always liked how they played and they were local guys.

Tino Martinez.

His stats arent as amazing as some that will be mentioned.
But I met him once, and he was quite a gentleman.

I think he was the last scrap of class in that organization.

He wouldve fit in well with The Sox.

It's so strange that you guys are saying Griffey, I thought he killed the Reds by having such a huge contract and always being hurt.

I'd say Michael Jordan. He would have been a God in NY, until he was relentlessly boo'd for having 2 mediocare seasons after 17 amazing ones. NY fans are so fickle.

How was he "bad" when Jordan first retired? He averaged 22 and 8 that year (his highest career totals) in the playoffs AND in the regular season. What else did you expect him to do? The man was also one of the best defenders of his era, or any era.

Because he pulled a Jimmy Chitwood when stupid Phil Jackson called that play for Kukoc? If I were him, I woulda done the exact same thing.

And when you combine the fact that he put up 22 and 8 that year WITH how many points he prevented through his defence, i'd say that's pretty good even if we're only talking about a one year sample size.

Not to mention the greatest dunk of all time in the history of dunks that ever dunked (aka "Elevation Elevation")

Even your boy Simmons thinks you're out of your mind (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/041101)

Where you stand on Scottie Pippen depends on two questions:
1. Do you follow the NBA? I mean, do you really follow it?
2. Do you give up on anyone who has made even one stupid mistake in his life?

If the answer is "yes" for No. 1, you probably wonder why Scottie's recent retirement wasn't a bigger story. It's not every day one of the 20 greatest players ever hangs it up, right? Does MJ win six rings without him? Does anyone even consider the concept of a point forward? Did any other small forward affect a game in more ways? Was there a more influential defensive player in the past 30 years?
